Dead Space not working properly

I installed Dead Space and tried to play it, and I noticed the mouse movements were severely lagging. Aside from that, I changed the resolution to 1366x768, which is the recommended resolution for my computer, and once I tried to click Accept Settings, the game stopped working and my mouse cursor started randomly disappearing while I was on Google Chrome. I tried to use the Task Manager to force quit Dead Space but my mouse cursor had completely disappeared by then and I could not even click on the End Process button, so I had to force shut down my computer. Can you tell me anything about this problem? I would really like to play this game. Thank you!
