i have to admit my feelings about the upgrade/weapons system in ds 3 a kind of mixed,
in ds 1 and 2 i was able to carry 4 weapons with each having a primary and secondary feature.
in ds 3 i only got 2 which i can config to my needs with an assortment of primary and secondary weapon functions,
but in the end i only got 2 weapons with an odd combination of features instead of 4 with primary and secondary functions that compliment each other.
sure its all up to how i put the stuff together to get a good working tool, but i feel like i have less options somehow.
i played my fist round of ds3 on hard and ended up using weapons with a high rate of fire and mediocre or low damage like the chaingun, repeater or rail accellerator, instead of high powered, slow firing mining tools or industrial weaponry, because i was swarmed by large numbers of necromorphs all the time. which is sad because i wasnt using my limited edition weapons alot this way, cause waiting for the weapon to be firing again while a swarm of feeders and other nasty things were coming at you meant you were going to die horribly...
the suit upgrades were kind of disappointing aswell, when i first looked at the upgrade screen i thought how cool it would be when you put all the stuff on your suit and you would be able to see the things like extra armor, bigger stasis and kinesis modules etc, but i soon realized nothing was going to show up on my suit.
also the investment of resources on the air upgrade was pretty pointless because you were only using air in 5 or 6 chapters and pretty much only for relatively short spans of time in these chapters, like going back and forth between the derelict ships in orbit of tau volantis, you pretty much never use it again after landing on the planet
so yeah kinda mixed feelings 😕mileyindifferent:
