New to PC gaming - Dead Space doesn't have options for game controller

I've been using my Wii for gaming, but recently bought a copy of Resident Evil 4 HD for PC.  I received a free copy of "Dead Space" from Origin.  I have Orign installed on my Windows 8.1 laptop and have Origin Version 9.4.6.2792 - 254813. 

I purchased a Logitech F310 game controller (usb).  I easily configured it for Resident Evil.  However, when I open "Dead Space" and go into the options, there are no options to add a game controller.

Please help me make sense of this as I hate using a keyboard - that's why I had the Wii all of these years.  Thanks in advance for any help.
