Opened Door but cant walk through

Assuming you are playing on Pc, can you try to get past this point using a gamepad rather than mouse+keyboard. Do come back and let us know if that allows you to get past this sticking point.

Just picked up this free game from Origin.

At the beginning of the game after the cut scene where the monster drops down from the ceiling and attacks the others, I'm told to run.  I run to the elevator and go down to a room where there is a plasma cutter.  I hear a guy screaming and I shoot the electronics to allow the door to open but when I open the door, the game will not let me pass through the door.  It's like a blocking volume is preventing me from going through the door?

Any thoughts as to what I should do?

I have the same problem and I don't have a game pad.  What next?

I have the same problem on all new games while my first save is working somewhat fine but that is a different issue; from what I understand of the issue is something is failing to trigger at that door you should be seeing a enemy attacking a crew member and killing him then running away or something but that enemy never appears or renders seems like something similar happened further in my main game save, a person never rendered so it prevented you from being able to progress.

So pretty much I can't start a new game on Easy, Medium or Hard because the thing that is suposed to trigger after you open that door after getting the Plasma Cutter never triggers.

A controller will not solve the issue at all since I use a Sony PS3 controller with motion in joy and its emulating a Xbox 360 controller.

Now the game is crashing on Chapter 12 for no reason at all and without any error messages.

I corrected this problem by turning on V sync in the game options.  Makes the mouse run smoother also.  If that doesn't work you might try forcing V sync in your graphics control panel.  For nvidia, go to its control panel under Manage 3D and go to  the bottom of the list to force V sync  on.

Hope this helps someone....it allowed me to go through the door anyway.
