I have the same problem that is described by the other players in this topic.
Reinstaling the game won't work and i only had 1 save file so the others were autosaves and that won't help either.
Same bug happened for me in ignite the engines manually i.e. no attack happened after installing the battery. But could hear a necro, like maybe it had spawned somewhere I couldn’t see.

Started 2 Feb when I first reached that point (fixed by reloading save from outside the room and doing exactly the same but this time the attack did spawn after installing the battery)

Yes, had another complete progression failure earlier in chapter 3 where Refuel the Engines (South) task remained outstanding even though I’d pulled down the lever. Had to replay the game again from the start.
Also in chapter 3 I had a necro spawn under the floor in the small room with sinks next to the control room (arms sticking out the floor).

having the same issue. no matter how many times i reload the game the elevator won't work after i activate the centrifuge and i cannot progress.
I bought the game today. I'm having the same problem. Nothing spawns
