Hey everyone,

Hey Everyone (Part 2)
We are requesting an update for this issue and I wanted to go over a few things first and then snag info from you in order to get this pushed up.
As of now, if you have not yet, please run through the following steps.
- Make sure the game is installed on an internal SSD (versus HDD or external SSD connected via USB)
- Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates
- EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
- Repair Games (Go to My Collection > Select the tile Dots > Repair)
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
- Put your device in a Clean Boot then launch the game
- Downloading the Xbox app, and Xbox companion app from the Microsoft store
- Disable the Steam overlay and the EA App overlay - Settings - Application In-game overlay
- Reset all settings in-game back to default
- Check do you alt+tab out for any reason before this happens
- Do you have a controller or another USB device plugged in when this happens?

Many controller issues can be resolved by putting the controller through a complete power cycle. To power cycle your controller: Press and hold the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds, until the controller turns off. Wait a few seconds, then press and hold the Xbox button again to turn the controller back on.
If these or other steps do not work, we will need the following information:- Platform:
- If on console, which console generation do you have?
- What is your Gamertag/PSN ID/Steam ID?
- The original Date/time issue occurred
- Description of the issue with the controller?
- Which Specific controller are you using?
- How often does the bug occur?
- Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves?
- What happens when the bug occurs?

As outlined in the previous posts on this thread I have done everything that you asked but just to be clear and to use as a single point of reference here are my answers
- Make sure the game is installed on an internal SSD (versus HDD or external SSD connected via USB)
- Game is running on SSD and I have tried multiple SSDs
- Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates
- Done - did not resolve
- I even wiped my pc / clean install of windows and this did not resolve the issue either
- EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
- Done - did not resolve
- Repair Games (Go to My Collection > Select the tile Dots > Repair)
- Done - did not resolve
- Check for other applications that may be limiting EA App or Game performance
- checked - still not resolved

Many controller issues can be resolved by putting the controller through a complete power cycle. - Keyboard and mouse controls stop responding. All key bindings are reset in the options to use a controller but I do not have one attached as I am using a keyboard and mouse
- Which Specific controller are you using?
- I have tried the following Keyboards - Razer black widows X tournament edition (Wired) , Logitech g915 TKL (Wired & Wireless), Razer blacwidow v3 mini hyperspeed (Wired & Wireless)
- I have tried the following mice - razer basilisk v3 pro (Wireless & Wired), Razer Viper Mini (wired) & Razer mamba (Wireless & Wired)
- None of this configurations resolve my issue
- How often does the bug occur?
- Every time I play, at random times during play. Once it occurs I have to wait approx 2 mins and then my keyboard and mouse are recognised by the game again and I can control the game but I need to go back into settings and set my binds again even after wiping them all to begin with at the start of game play
- Steps: How can we find the bug ours
- Start game
- Clear Bindings (Optional, this does not stop the issue from occurring
- Play the game until the controls stop responding
- wait approx 2 mins for controls to start responding again
- What happens when the bug occurs?
- All keyboard and mouse controls stop responding. If I am walking through a level when this happens Isaac will continue to walk in the direction he is facing. I am unable to control anything, unable to pause the game, unable to press escape to the main menu but if I know the keyboard is still working through windows as I can press the windows key and it responds, the game appears to be resetting the controls scheme back to controller when I do not have one connected to my pc
Please provide an eta for a fix for this issue
If you need anything else ie logs etc please let me know

Clearly the game is unplayable at the moment so I would very much like to play what I paid for, with that in mind a prompt resolution or at least constant communication around this issue would be great appreciated

The last patch was in Feb and nothing since then
Is it fair to say that there are probably no future patches coming now that we have paid for this broken code ??

Hey everyone,
I looked for an update on this. I am not currently seeing one being posted from the team as of yet.
Holy Butts Batman. I didn't have the "randomly inputs stop being processed and you continue in whatever direction you were going" issue until today. I hadn't played the game since March. I had just started the game after cloning my C:\ from a HDD to a SSD and thought that was the issue. Looks like I'm going to have to just add my name to the pile. Hopefully a patch will come out sometime (unlikely knowing corporate structure). And yes, @EA_Shepard (shudders), I'll try the troubleshooting steps, but it looks like our person, @kill3rvill3, has our back on this. Keep EA honest Kill. We've got your back. :raised_fist:

- @Valerea Im sorry to hear you are having these issues now, its beyond acceptable at this point but all the things you hear about EA post sales support seems to be true at this point and my opinion on that wont change until this issue is addressed I guess

Has this game been abandoned from any support now because it feels like it has
1 month of updates post launch probably due to the bad press from outlets like Digital Foundry and then nothing, dwindling player numbers probably forced the 90 min free trial to be released and yet nothing in the way of a patch for the numerous issues listed on this site
Can we please get an update other than you cant see anything ? Is there any update yet ?

@kill3rvill3 I took a look and the last update i can see is that this issue was closed as it could not be replicated with the information that was provided by players. If this is still an issue for players, any steps to fix it will be done through troubleshooting the system, cables, files, and controllers. I know that is not the most ideal of updates but unfortunately, there is not an update to this or the game at this time that would resolve this specific issue.
@kill3rvill3 I recently started playing this game and have encountered this same issue. I'm playing the Steam version using a PS5 controller.
Just last night I tried powering off my USB DAC (used as a headphone amp) and switching to a regular 3.5mm headphone device, admittedly I've only had 2 short 45 minute game sessions since but this may have resolved my issue, previously even if only playing for an hour I'd expect my controller to go unresponsive once or twice during that time. Interesting I have a similar problem with Battlefield 2042 where my game will freeze entirely (audio works) and then resume, this would also happen with similar regularity to the issue with the controller on DS R.
If you have other USB devices (excluding your standard KB+M) you may want to try disabling or removing them for a session and see if it resolves your issue, particularly if you're using USB audio of any kind, I suspect there's some underlying problem that's related to Frostbite engine.

- @Commando_Drewski Edit: I just noted from your first response that you removed other USB devices. None the less, leaving this post here in case you happen to use USB headphones/DAC and didn't consider these.

no further support outside of less than a handful of patches (was it 3 in total)
I understand its not your fault shepard and I appreciate the fact that once communication was flowing you at least kept us updated but I think the company direction on this is disgusting and one that will seriously stop me buying any future EA titles
Multiple other parties on here have similar problems and I guess they are all out of luck too - dead game, no support disgusting cash grab This looks like it worked or at least i played for the first time a full 30 mins without the controls stopping working - thank you for doing what EA couldn't

so now to play this game I need to remove all other USB devices including my DAC to play this game - whilst I am grateful for finding a fix this does throw into question the level of testing and QA that goes into the games that come out of EA these days.
I am now at the point where I will no longer be buying any EA titles and ensuring that wherever I can I will be directing people away from any EA title. The overall experience has left me feeling conned and incredibly let down
We have all heard about how bad EA is as a company and how it things so little of its customer base and we have read multiple articles about how detached EA is as a company from its "fanbase" and I thought it was just horror stories but after going through this as a consumer of EA's garbage I have to say I totally get it now and wish EA nothing but failure from this point on. Salty, no not really just incredibly frustrated by the lack of support and customer service and disappointed in the fact that you have so many great franchises you are running into the ground
Thanks @EA_Shepard for at least trying to keep us updated and being a go between - I am by no means aiming any of my frustration and disappointment at you
Finally, thanks to @Commando_Drewski for finding a fix that not even EA could find, replicate.....whatever I'm sure very little went into fixing this considering a patch hasn't been seen in months and the game is showing as no longer supported from a steam point of view I started playing Dead Space Remake a few days ago. Didn't have any problems until today. Same issue others had here. Controls go completely unresponsive, cant even hit esc, literally have to ctr+alt+del the program. Happens with both keyboard/mouse and ps5 controller. Now happens every 5-10 minutes. Had to quit my stream early since it was miserable for both me and my viewers. Looks like there arent any great solutions or patches for this issue yet? I'm very upset and can't believe this is an issue this many months after its release.
I dont think there will ever be a fix for this issue as well as the many other issues being had all around this site
clearly this game release was a cash grab and then post release and less than a handful of patches this game has fell out of support (you wont get EA to confirm that though)
If you are streaming it could be related to any number of peripherals you have, DAC or other sound interface, camera, ring light other lighting etc
I wish you luck but even if you get this issue somewhat resolved by completely reconfiguring your machine you will simply be left with a game that still stutters constantly and potentially you could see more game breaking bugs, my advice is stream the original game
good luck friendJust got my DS Remake and during the first encounter with nercomorphs realized that I can't run. Half of the buttons not working. Made it to the first weapon and the cutter is only in the aim mode.
This is unacceptable for a new game moreover for a remake.
