Re: Traversal stutter on PC

I get it but the thing is game reviews are very positive and I know some people still have a same problems.

Thats why I m always saying I hope game will be fixed with some future updates but trust me no need for spams and calling out EA, game really works without issue for Majority.

If you are sure that your rig is really high no worry go play something else untill next update. btw I m building rigs, I m not professional but still...

Again I really hope update will be released soon for people who still have a troubles.

It is not the same when you change your setting in folder and lock the file.

Settings in a game works a little diff sometimes.

Again. Hope its gonna be fixed for you all.

@S1xthsense I’m trying to give Motive the benefit of the doubt, they seem like they really love Dead Space as much as we do. They fixed the PS5 bug 3 days after launch, meaning someone worked all weekend to fix it.

On a side note I borrowed the game on PS5? Runs absolutely flawlessly, its traversal stutter there is no more noticeable than God of War or Ratchet and Clank. The problem on PC is that the stutters last for upwards of 100 MS, where console feels like 16-30 MS…

Seeing all those database entries has me withholding my snark for now, if they're working hard to fix it, that's good. Wish they'd say something, but if it's them saying "we're working on it" or seeing that they're actually working on it, I'll take seeing every time. (Though both would be nice...)

The 60 cap is doing work too, reducing the length of the stutters. I play at 120 at it's much worse, you should try uncapping and see how much worse it feels. Personally for me 60 doesn't feel smooth when using KBM on my 165Hz display, so capping to 60 isn't really an option for me.

@macatakYes, at literally every single point I see them at when I play. Look at your own damn frame time graph. Those spikes as you near doors are stutters.

And that's WITH you capping at 60 and walking at a low speed, which is hilarious. Doing everything you can to minimize the stutters for your video and you still can't get rid of them. Almost like it's a problem with the game.

You did a good job getting them that short, but most of us with a 4080 don't want to cap at a measly 60 FPS and walk like grandma through every door.

Anyway, they've been patching like crazy on the beta branch. Just nonstop. Here's hoping they get a fix that doesn't involve me basically emulating how someone plays during an E3 presentation.

  • @Xbob42 it's not my video, someone posted it on the Steam forums claiming they had no stutters

And like everyone who posts a video claiming they have no stutters, they failed to present us a stutter-free video. lol

Which is funny, because the video showed them stuttering, even though they walked everywhere and capped the frame rate to 60. Not exactly a real world scenerio but what do you expect from the Steam forums.

Yup, keep it alive. Good news is they're still working on it like crazy according to SteamDB. 16 depot changes just yesterday (going by UTC) and 5 already for today.

  • i dont get it, whats the problem for Motive/EA to say: We hear you, we get it, please be patient, we´re working on it..😬

  • Usually CMs don't post unless they have anything new to report. Given a EA rep asked on reddit a specific topic asking people to post their configs the day after release, I'm fairly sure they're actively working on all of this. Crossing fingers for the next patch to help fix this.

To be honest if another update do not fix these type of problems, then... I dont know guys you should refund game first time you saw a problem.

And again people that I know from Steam they maxed game same as me and finished it, some of them like me even two times.

But seeing that some people still have a problem with Jedi Fallen Order... is a little off for me. That game is optimized really good.

Also I never said I capped game on 60. But still this is a thread for people who cant play a game in normal state so yes keep thread alive, and yes I do think some of the fixes that are only related to bugs and glitches cant help in this case.

    Cheers.

If the game works perfectly for you then you have no reason to be here, other than to troll. Do you go outside hospitals and scream "I'M HEALTHY HAHA YOU DYING IDIOTS".

@MohawkTheOne Yes, I could finish the game right now as well... What does that have to do with stutters? Many people won't notice or care because their standards are low, they're not very observant, or various other reasons. *Everyone* has the stuttering.

This could be significant. I noticed the beta branches stopped their feverish uploads yesterday, and 15 hours ago it went from " beta_patch_stab" (presumably beta patch stable) to "tu3_final" (I don't know what tu3 could mean, some acronym for something like a release candidate?) which means for good or ill, I believe a patch is coming soon!

Forgive me if a CM has already commented on a patch release or something, been playing Returnal all day and just checked in on this.

EDIT: Randomly just figured out what TU means! Knew it was a familiar phrase. Obviously it's "title update," so this is "title update 3," or the third patch.

@Xbob42 Can confirm nothing from the CM, they haven’t posted or commented anything for at least a week. Fingers crossed.

@Xbob42 It means title update 3, which means the patch is mostly ready, so we might see it today.
  • No patch yet and the beta build is off and running again!

@spd1975 Damn, that sucks. But better that than a busted patch that just disappoints everyone I guess. Shame they couldn't get this all figured out pre-launch though.

Yup, it looks like they found an issue with the patch and are working on a fix before it's released. Honestly I'd rather wait another day or two then receive a buggy patch after waiting for so long already.
