This app cannot run under a virtual machine

When I start Dead Space 3, I get an error saying "Sorry, this application connot run under a Virtual Machine" I am definitely not running the game in a VM These are the following remedies I tried: ...

The hardware assisted virtualisation is most likely the virtual machine the error message refers to. You will probably be unable to play without disabling that.
