Solved

DLC downloaded, installed and authorized successfully but still not working. (Steam, Ultimate)

I would like to preface this by saying that the manifest solution posted elsewhere in this forum (http://answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Origins/Return-to-Ostagar-not-Triggering/m-p/3065340#U3065340) did not solve this issue for me. I already had manifests, and they were the same as the ones that I extracted directly from the BSN dazips. Still, I replaced them anyways and there were no changes. I also manually installed the affected DLCs over the current ones from the dazips, and then overwrote the manifests again. Still no dice.

My issues are with three specific DLCs: Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner and Return to Ostagar. All 3 are in my installed list of DLCs, enabled, with no authorization problems. This is to the extent that if I uncheck those 3 DLCs in the installed list and then try to load my game, it will prompt me to enable those three DLCs. However, in-game, only Warden's Keep ever makes it to my quest list. Even so, Levi Dryden is nowhere to be found. Sulcher Pass and Bann Loren's lands are not on my map. I have a save file that's probably about 70% done but I'll restart the game if I have to. I've looked around and some people have posted similar problems but the only posted fix I could find (the aformentioned manifest) did not work for me. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Thank you lowcaglow for your help. What I ended up doing was uninstalling DAOA via steam, registering my serial with origins and installing it from there instead. Then I manually addied back any missing content via DDL from BSN (in my case it was just Blood Dragon Armor). I did not even have to make a new character.

I am pleasantly surprised that Origin is getting it right when Steam is not. Although if I were more of a conspiracy theorist I might have a slightly different take on the matter.

The manifest thing worked for me but only on new save (Old one is still not working with DLCs). You can easily check if it's working on new save. Just install dazips, extract manifest, run the game and make new game. If at the very beginning (prologue) You will have Schulers Pass (My translation sorry if it's wrong 😉) entry in the journal everything is fine and ready to play, if not I have no idea how to help You.

  • I made sure I had the manifests to CP2 and OCP2 in both my documents and the steam DAO root, but no dice with Sulcher's pass. Thanks for the quick reply though.

Edit: Even on my earlier save I've been getting Shale's crystals. So the thing is working somewhat.

Since there are no more ideas at the moment consider downloading dazip from another source and check if this will help. Maybe somehow the files are corrupted.

I'm not sure how it's exactly on steam (I have Origin version) but maybe don't change this one from DAOroot
