Dragon Age: Inquisition Not Launching AT ALL

Yo EA! Hi yes nice to talk to you guys! Why can't I play this game I have bought from you guys four separate times? Xbox360, Xbox One, Pc Origin, Pc Steam. It's super not annoying or anything that this is a persistent problem with multiple upon multiple people that are consistently review bombing the game and on top that it hasn't been fixed by anybody for months, no yea that's just super cool and totally professional of a game company with multiple games running underneath it. It's almost like you guys are handing out paychecks for nothing.

Doesn't work through Origin, Steam, or the trash EA Play App that has now been replacing Origin. Have ran as admin, have restarted, have ran in compatibility mode, have updated drivers, have reinstalled vc and xdirect, have turned off in game overlays, have verified on each app, have ran two separate variations of the game, have enabled borderless window mode, have turned off extra processes in my f-ing windows settings for Christ sakes, have let it through firewall, have let it through anti-virus, among other recommended fixes. Reinstalled in twice even, god I'm fuming lol. Fix this.

Would sincerely appreciate a genuine fix for this problem that isn't some dumb response that labels me as the incompetent one such as: Update your drivers! Restart your PC! Run as Administrator! How about some accountability and admittance on your guys side that it is a fault on you and the reason it doesn't function correctly is your issue, not the players. Thanks!

Please if any player here has any genuine fix that has helped them and can point me in a correct direction I would be super appreciative. Don't even bother commenting EA Moderator if it's going to be some pointless, waste of time message.

@slapaskank Have tried every single fix I can find that is relevant and recent. Not being able to play it offline as well is such a travesty. Being forced to use this dogwater app that doesn't even work SOMETIMES. Jesus Christ man this is sad. Such a good game, likely made by people long gone from the disappointment this company has become now. Guess I'll go play Anthem! Said no one on the planet once.

I've been having a similar issue with DA:I. Everything was fine until installing the EA App & replacing the Origin one in the process. Now every time I try launching DA:I it fails to boot up. DA:O and DA2 both launch fine, with no issues at all. Sadly DA:I just won't launch at all - yet there's no error message or anything - just flits between opening the EA app window and looking as if the game's going to launch, & nothing. Less than impressed - someone please help!

I too have this problem. I had been playing the game just fine for the past month or so on my computer with origin. Today Origin told me I should download the ea app to replace origin and Now my game won't load. Ever Same thing it just flits a black screen for 3 seconds and then pretends its left. Ea should make sure things work before they push out something like this

yeah... EA GET YOUR * TOGETHER! it is annoying as hell, and the worst is they ecpect ME the paying customer to try all kinds of fixes...
what is this 1995? just let the game run through steam without your * app... but no can do...
i am really starting to hate this company

Exact same issue. I can't believe they tell you 'we are working on it, watch the forums', as others reported it was said. It is 2023, and EA forces me to change the launcher app that makes the previous app unusable and the game not-playable. I played just yesterday with no problems. Then, today, I fire up Origin, it forces me to install the new app and uninstalls itself---with no way to opt out, I may add-- and when I try to launch Inquisition, I get a black screen as if it was about to launch, then it closes itself and I am left with the useless but huge EA app screen showing 'hey, you have the game but guess what, you can't play it, haha'.
My daughter just wanted to start on Inquisition this weekend seeing me play for hundreds of hours these past years, literally, without any issue. For her sake, I really hope this will be fixed sooner or later instead of languishing for months. What the hell is happening?

This is ridiculous I'm having the same issue and I've tried every single fix I've seen suggested; the game won't launch and I get the "an error happened on our end ☹️(((((((((" message . I was near the end of my game and now I can't finish it because I was forced to update to the EA app!! I see this has been happening to people for over a month and this is still happening with no fix!

I found a work around but I had to uninstall the game completely and reinstall it through the EA app and then do the fix with the environmental variables edit now I'm trying to get Andromeda to launch as it's doing the same thing.

I had to reinstall the game through the EA App and then reinstall all my mods through the Dragon Age mod manager which is the older mod app, then delete the variables in the Environmental variables fix I found on here but I got it to work that way. (there is a file to delete in the variables that has to do with the Frosty mod manager)

Same here.
Even lost an entire afternoon trying to troubleshoot the issue (good thing I work from home and don't have kids, right?) That's a 6+ hours electricity bill EA certainly won't pay. F**k, I'm such a mark... Yesterday the game only refused to launch. Today it even refuses to download... (yeah, I'm on my third re-install)
I've had the game since 2014. First time I've had any issue with it. My best guess is, it has to do with encryption. The game is old and has received no new content for several years. So maybe Uncle Scrooge updated their anti-piracy programs and forgot old titles like DAI in the process. Now we've got to wait until all the other major profit leaks have been resolved... You're right, that's unfair of me to say. After all, the Disney Empire behind EA is a struggling start-up starving for cash, so it stands to reason that they can't adress every single issue that creeps up their products every now and then. We're lucky they're even still in the business!! the measley beggars...
What's next? Forcing me to re-buy DAI, like Steam wanted me to re-buy my childhood game after Windows 10?
Ever heard about the shotgun blues?
PS: I'm spamming the "report error" button on the app until the issue is fixed.
