Fixing DA:O by completely removing Origin

Origin always uninstals and then reinstals DLC after each and every launch. Often it bugs and does not reinstall those.

So to play the game, I need to completely get rid of origin.

Please, how? Launching daorigins.exe directly still causes Origin to break the game.

I have tried blocking origin from accessing the internet, which is promising, it stops origin from truly launching, but then the game itself does not launch. (the game is installed, so it does not need origin for anything)

  • Your system try allocate more memory your .exe file can support, Its make your save file crash the game. Install the 4gb patch its going to let your main game .exe allocate more memory. The new computer today are more powerfull and the game was desaigned for old computer. so lets try the 4gb trick and let us know if all problem are solved. (the 4gb haave to be applied on the main game .exe only, not origins software). if you dont let the game use more memory you going to have a hard time.

  • This may not be the most economical suggestion, but if the Origin client bothers you this much, then perhaps consider buying the game again on GOG.com. The GOG version is completely DRM free and includes all DLC, so it's the best version of the game. Maybe wait for a sale. I've seen it as low as €5.

  • You don't have to launch (or use) Origin at all, after DAO is installed. (Same with DA2). Just use a shortcut to "\Origin Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship\daorigins.exe" to launch the game.
