@Comralis Hmm, there's a long-shot chance that the code will just work on Origin, you can try the steps here: https://help.ea.com/uk/article/redeem-your-serial-code-in-origin/
Frankly, I don't expect that to be successful, so the next step would be to contact support, hopefully they can assist with converting your old version to an Origin copy.
Thank you for the answer! I did that, but unfortunately, it didn't work. Even if it did, Origin's version of Dragon Age Ultimate doesn't support Mac (I have no idea why), so it doesn't really matter. What I need, are the data files for the game in the format that plays on a Mac, as I have a (hopefully and probably) working code. I know for a fact that this exists. Those where the files that we downloaded from gametree before it shut down, but those files are nowhere to be found anymore.

Oh wow, I apologize. I know DA2 has an Origin Mac version, so I assumed there was a working DAO version too.
Checking, it doesn't appear to be sold digitally at all any more, sorry. If you could find a physical copy you could use the discs to install then use your code, hopefully that would work.
You are absolutely right. I am not really sure that a physical copy actually exists, though. Maybe they (I think they are called transgaming and also owned gametree or something) made only a Mac-Download version. The problem is, where can I find this version?
This also explains why there was never a german version of the game for Mac. Although I remember that I once managed to get it to work in German, by getting the necessary files from the PC version. But first things first.
I talked with EA and they told me to write about it at the bioware forums...
...aaaand now I realise that this IS the bioware forums... So I guess nobody can help me?

Sorry, I've not got anything on this one. I'll try to get something more, but I can't make any promises, sorry.
I get it. It's a shame (and disrespectful) that gametree gave no notice to their clients when they closed down. I would have gotten a copy and keep it on my hard drive.
I was about to ask about this (well, for Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening, not the ultimate edition). I’m sorry to see that I’m not alone having this issue and that it currently has no solution. As I actually bought plenty of DLCs via Bioware, they are all registered there, but the game is not. Dragon Age 2 is registered as well for some reason.
Anyway, I’d love to see where this is going. Let us know if you find any solution.
As for the GameTree not giving news, I’d cut them some slack. I have no doubt the people there add plenty both on their mind and hands at the time of closing and, let’s be honest, an email from them would have likely ended in my spam box anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised it actually did.
So, right after posting my previous message, I did register my activation codes through Origin and it did work (although it did not on social.bioware.com). Now, at least, I just have to find a way to run it on OS X.
At least, I have a somewhat safer proof of purchase.
I didn't really try to register my copy through Origin, as I already have a windows copy that I got for free. There was a special offer at some point, where you could get it for free for maybe 1 or 2 days, I don't remember.
The problem is, it is really difficult (if at all possible) to run the windows version of Origin on your Mac through Wineskin, Crossover, Cider or whatever. If that was possible, I could probably create my own mac compatible port of the game with my windows copy. I don't use Bootcamp, because I can't afford to lose space on my hard drive (it is only 250GB).
As for gametree, they didn't notify anybody. They just quietly shut down. And I would have definitely saw their email (I am a customer, I have their email address added to my contacts, so there is no way that it would be blocked).
