11 years agoGPU runs VERY VERY HOT
Hi everyone, I have the PC version of DAI, and it runs very hot on my crossfired 7950's. I mean, ridiculously hot that I'm worried that it might damage my cards. I'm hitting the 90's sometimes durin...
Ya those temps are very hot. I would make sure that you set a custom fan profile. In addition make sure that your case is clean and has good airflow.
My other games runs fine. I already dusted my system and and the fan is running 80-100% and I already cleaned and put on new thermal paste on the video cards.
this game is ridiculous
Ya the game does use a ton of GPU. My GTX 680oc/oc windforce will run at 99% with 100% fan use at about 72c which is high.
I am really hoping that there is another patch soon that will optimize the engine better but it has been over a month since patch 2 so.....
What settings are you using ingame?
I'm using high, not the highest tho. the AA is off
my specs:
i7 4790K
16GB DDR-3 2400 G.skill
Radeon 7950 Crossfire
samsung SSD
Maximus VII hero mobo
performance is not an issue, just the temp is lame. most of the other games i run only reach mid to high 70's, with an higher overclock
This game I'm basically running on 5% overclocked speeds only.
I have a gtx 660 windforce and it is also constantly at 99%. My case keeps it pretty cool at about 65C but that is still hotter than any other game I play.
Most games the gpu will get a break when you are in menus. In Skyrim my gpu will downclock when in the menu keeping the overall temps low. But in DA:I the gpu is constantly maxed which I think is causing a lot of player's gpus to overheat.
I hope it is possible with this engine for it to stop rendering when in menus. I spend a lot of time looking at gear or reading at the war table. Those are perfect times to let my gpu cool a little.
