11 years agoGPU runs VERY VERY HOT
Hi everyone, I have the PC version of DAI, and it runs very hot on my crossfired 7950's. I mean, ridiculously hot that I'm worried that it might damage my cards. I'm hitting the 90's sometimes durin...
Even maxed out, your card should NOT run as high as you are posted unless there is an issue, either with a fan going bad, bad air flow, or some other hardware issue. Your card is typically designed to be able to run maxed out and stay in decent temps(unless massive overclocking) for hours of use. IF you are getting high temps, then you have an issue, and just haven't figured it out yet.
I see lots of people running at 80's in this game. Just the nature of the game, since I see the GPU usage is usally extremely high, if not maxed.
Most of the other games i run are either in the high 60's or 70's
Doesn't change the fact that you are about 8 degrees C away from cooking your card, and it should have been designed to run maxed out at less temps. So if you are running that high, then there is a hardware issue, you just haven't found it yet. Now, there may indeed be an issue in the game that when fixed drops temp by making your card not work quite as hard, but it still doesn't change the underlying issue that your card SHOULD be able to run maxed out doing all it can do, and not overheat like yours is.

CPU and GPU usage can be abnormally high if the game was downloaded from a source other than the Origin client. This is because the cracked version of the game comes with a bitcoin miner that uses the player's hardware resources to run complex simulations on the cracker's behalf.
Due to the high number of CPU usage reports, I doubt this is the only possible cause for this issue, but right now it is the only known cause. (Edit: No "known cause" yet. Still investigating.)

Seriously NO.
People shouldn't be using warez releases and support the devs sure. But don't put out rubbish propaganda like that. Any time a cracked version of a game is laggy is because usually they have to introduce a virtual server of some kind to deal with any online interactions that are normally not so easy to crack.
That won't affect the GPU in anyway of course.
The guy who posted originally clearly has overclocked, no matter if it is just 5% as he says, an overclock will introduce more stress to the hardware thusly generating more heat especially when fully used. DA:I is constantly streaming both data and GPU instructions, so hardware will heat up, especially when shadows, AA, and any other effects even in close up chatting sessions with NPCs can bump up the usage of the GPU. The heat without overclocking would have been lower, but since he did it has risen as expected.
Plus if his case doesn't have a decent air flow and proper exhaust port for heat in the form of a fan sucking heat out, then heat will propagate inside the case and boost up also.
Just don't go for the warez misinformation, yes you want to make people buy the game, but people aren't foolish these days and they will just view this as an attempt of propaganda, which has nothing to do with EA since you are not an employee.
