How do I sneak?

I am playing dragon Age: Origins. My character isa rogue. The manual says I can sneak, but doesn't tell me how to do so.

It is very frustrating, I can't find this information anywhere.

Hi robmcfarlane99,

Have you unlocked any talent fom the Stealth tree? You will need Stealth if you wish to sneak in a room and installed traps for example.
