im having the same issue on the xbox 360, it allows me to confirm, the select party menu opens, i select my party hit confirm and it freezes completely. I have tried going here through different saves and selecting different characters but it doesnt seem to make a difference. YAY for buggy games....
I was able to get past this just by coming back after running around and doing some sidequests. So my advice is to just save it until a little later and keep trying. Also back out a after the conversation and save before selecting the mission on the war table.
