Re: Xbox 360 controller stopped working after 5 hours of playing with it

All I have plugged in is my keyboard and mouse and the controller. I even uninstalled all drivers of devices I have used before. Still no response in the game. This is the only controller I have ever plugged into my pc and I uninstalled the driver of my old keyboard, so I have no idea where to go from here. I used the damn controller for 5 hours of the game and didn't changed anything on my pc between it working and not working.

So I was looking at my dxdiag and I noticed that in the DirectInput Devices there was a device call "controller" at the bottom of the list and I thought maybe that could be my problem. The problem is I had no idea what it is. Well using the controller ID, Vender ID, and ProductID and with the help of google I figured out that those are the IDs for an Nvidia Shield (which I have never used). I then realized that my controller stopped working after I had installed an update for the Geforce Experience and maybe it installed the Nvidia Shield drivers on my pc. So uninstalled the Geforce Experience and noticed that after running dxdiag again that controller did not show up anymore and when I started the game up it worked!

Did your controller work with other games? If so, than maybe it isnt YOUR problem at all. IYKWIM

Controller didn't work when when I had Geforce Experience and when I uninstalled it, it started working. I don't know how that couldn't be the conclusion to come to. And yes, the controller worked for a few games but for many of the games it didn't work at all or only the start button worked.
