Hi @la_jacus,
Thank you for your feedback about the EA app on Steam Deck.
Currently, the EA app doesn't have official full support for the Steam Deck, and our games aren't officially supported on the device/OS either.
However, you can check https://www.steamdeck.com/en/verified to see which games seem to work on the Steam Deck, as verified by the community and Valve.
There is an offline mode available but to switch to offline mode, you need to be online first. This is as upside-down-inside-out as it can get.
Going online is a little complicated when you are, forinstance, at 35,000 feet!!!
And even if you switch offline before you take off; once the app closes (crash or user action) and you reopen it, it's reset back to online mode!!!!
Basically: you're session has ended: sucks to be you!
The fix is easy:
Just make something along the lines of a checkbox at the sign in/log on screen that gives users the option to play offline directly form there.
When I have a connection, I play online anyway but the problem lies in when I'm traveling and DON'T have the option to connect or when I'm at a destination where there is no/bad signal.
Ow, and checking if the games work is not the problem; they work brilliantly.
Re-buying it AGAIN is just to drunk for words.
I already own it on Origin/EA App, XBOX and Playstation.
I'm not purchasing it a 4th time through Steam (IF it is at all available) just becasue an APP isn't working they way it should.
If that's the solution that EA has to offer, I guess their going to lose customers to the developers/platforms that ARE willing to listen to the people who actually create the companies revenue.
