Linux Support
It would be really nice if the EA App officially supported Linux as Linux gaming is getting more popular. I would also love to play EA games easily on Linux.
Thank you!

That my friend would be epic.
Right here rooting with ya! 🙂 Just package it in a flatpak and snap and you'd cover about every distribution.
I mean, on the analytics usa gov website you can see how much Desktop Linux is rising in market share recently. 4.5% last calendar year to 5.6% now, and that's even without Chrome OS included else we'd be talking 7.7%
Even only about 6 years ago we were at 2% so we're talking some serious numbers of gamers here not able to play properly.
Can't imagine that at some point a company like EA wants to lose sales by not supporting a platform.
I use Bazzite, so an official EA app Flatpak would be amazing! It would let me fully switch from Windows!
However, one major issue (that I can think of at least) is how will the games be able to run? Making a native Linux version for the games sounds like a massive, difficult process. I guess they could have something similar to Proton.
(I'm still somewhat new to how Linux gaming works, so I'm sorry if I get things wrong)
Bazzite is still gaining many more users. I really hope they are at least considering this.
Seriously, supporting Linux will make things easier for a lot of people. I'm still looking forward to the day I can play games (like The Sims 4 for example) on Linux! It would really make me happy!
With the massive success of the Steam Deck and Valve's recent announcement of the new Steam Machine (a living room gaming PC set for release in early 2026), the SteamOS ecosystem is expanding rapidly. Additionally, third-party devices like the Lenovo Legion Go are now shipping with SteamOS as the default operating system, bringing Linux based gaming to even more users.
To best support players who own EA titles through the EA store, I strongly recommend developing a native EA app for SteamOS. This could include built in integration with Proton/WINE for Windows based EA games on Linux.
A native solution would provide a much smoother and more reliable experience compared to current workarounds, encouraging more cross platform play and helping retain EA library owners as they transition to SteamOS devices. It would also future proof EA platform ahead of broader SteamOS adoption on handhelds, consoles, and PCs.
This is a fantastic idea! I plan on moving to SteamOS sometime in the future myself, and it would be very lovely to have my library from the EA App to be on SteamOS too!
