Massive update just to play a game which hasn't been updated in years?
I'm trying to play Titanfall 2 which has not received any serious updates in years. It is requiring a 2GB update to play it, can I correctly assume this is an update to EA Play?
I don't need an update to EA play. I resent having to use it at all to play a game I purchased. I don't have the data to do 2GB updates.
This app is pure bloat middleman-ing between me and my games, and in fact actively obstructing my access to them.
This is the opposite of the function of a launcher.
Fix your code and fix your design directives. This is an anti-app, composed almost entirely of anti-features.
This could be a fine arrangement, EA. You could just gib game, and I will occassionally gib microtransaction. I will, and I do. I work. I invest. I've got the $ to buy a gd skin every now and then.
But lets just keep it at that, alright? You don't need to re-develop the internet browser from scratch inside the launcher or whatever spaghetti projects exactly it is that is causing a launcher to be so bloated.
A launcher literally does not need any GUI at all. It can just be a script to launch the game.
You want to show some ads, fine, we can compromise somewhere in the middle and show a clean, optimised app with whatever you're selling. But when you're actively blocking access to customers products in the face of widespread vocal identification of this to you is I suggest to you this is reaching consumer law violations level of non-functionality.
