I think the community should get together and sue EA. Surely it's not legal for them to suddenly bar access to games that people paid for just because they're incompetent and can't develop their new launcher properly. Maybe then they'd actually listen to us.
Like????
Just ask use Steam to launch your games if you have this much trouble doing it yourselves. This program is about as functional as a BSOD.

@SnyaLaterThat wouldn't work. We all gave our rights away when we accepted various EULAs and TOSs -- they could literally replace the games we have with screensavers, and perhaps then we might have some grounds to sue them.
Much better course of action is to:
1. Stop buying their new games (deprive them of profit)
2. Stop playing existing games (make them waste money on empty multiplayer servers)
3. Uninstall EA Desktop and sign out of EA Origin (deprive them of the telemetry they collect)
4. Flood their corporate Twitter feed with #StopEA messages, listing reasons why you stopped using their services (shame them publicly)
In other words, mass boycott, which will probably never happen because most people nowadays are docile sheep who will take any kind of abuse from big companies without complaining. Honestly the only thing in that list that will work is the twitter mob. And even the. It would have to be a big one
How does one start their origin games through Steam? Can you explain? I've never gotten EA App to allow me to play my games and I'm staring at the "Now's the time to upgrade" screen with no option to close it.
I have It Takes Two - an EA game I bought on Steam because it was cheaper than EA had it (a head scratcher in itself). It uses the EA client to authenticate, but it didn't want EA Desktop.
When I launched it from Steam, it background reinstalled Origin, and then the game launched. That was in ...October, maybe? When I tried it from EA Desktop tonight, it just ran correctly. But then the Origin client is still here.
You can get around it. I uninstalled EA app and reinstalled origin and it worked perfectly.
- @sdlynn You can get around it just force close origin. If that doesn't work install EA app then uninstall and reinstall origin which is what I did. I refuse to use that garbage EA App.
The EA APP is * bullcrap.
I'd use it, if it doesnt * show each time i close a game, its annoying to close every * time ( Origin had a setting where you could enable/disable showing after game."app" us pure *!
Agreed someone should start a class action lawsuit.
