The EA app now has an offline mode.
Click on the menu symbol (Three strokes top left) > Go offline.
So now EA Desktop is almost imminent on a full release and origin is closing down, are we any closer to having an offline mode? Or at least an option to launch games without updating them.
What a shame! Can we go back to physical media please - no online only modes/ mandatory updates etc!
I will be fuming if they force us onto EA app without an offline mode!

This implies there is internet to connect to and then you CHOOSE to go offline. If there is no internet you still cannot play the game. Previously with Origin if there was no internet it said you are offline but gave the ability to play in offline mode. Now when I need to play I have to wait for my computer to have a good enough connection to allow the EA app to go online, then go into offline mode. Later it then says there is an error and it cannot connect to the internet. As many Sims game frequently need to be restarted, I then have to again wait for a decent connection so I can login to the app again to start playing again. This is NOT an ability to play offline, it is a CHOICE to play offline and many of us don't have a choice with our internet connection.
