Oi! Stop being rude.
So it's no secret, that who ever is making the big decisions EA right now is really pushing for advertising unbought content.
I personally didn't really care when you installed the shopping cart in the game, because I can ignore it. Though I would never use it, because buying new content would mean that I have to restart my game anyway. So, if something DID happen to make me want to buy something while I was playing, I'd just generally think, "Ok, I might do that later." Fact of the matter is. I've only clicked on it once, and that was by accident when I was trying to hit a different button. But the shopping cart is fine. It makes EA look greedy, but it doesn't affect my play.
A couple of days ago when a pop up appeared after I had started up my play file saying "Hey, there are new kits that you can buy." I thought to myself. That's obnoxious. I have a slow computer, and it's just taken me half an hour to get the game running, I'm REALLY not interested in closing my game to check out some kits, that I already decided not to get. Hope that doesn't happen too often.
But today. I did not open the sims today. No. I was on my Scrivener app, minding my own business and trying to figure out the important beats for a story that I am currently outlining. When out of nowhere, a pop up covering the bottom right hand of my screen managed to utterly derail my train of thought.
Two guesses as to what company sent that deliberate fart of a pop up, and the second guess doesn't count.
Normally, I try to be polite in this kind of thing. As I know and acknowledge that the **bleep** that made the decision to interrupt my time when I am NOT actively using your app, is not the same person who will most likely be reading this. But I want to be clear, that as far as I am concerned, that is the sort of line-crossing that has moved me to stop using products from, and to blacklist companies in the past.
It's rude. It's entitled. And I will not tolerate it.
