Pop-up in Origin about EA app which can't be closed

Hi everyone. I have been playing Sims 3 through Origin for many years now, but today am having issues. When I open Origin I get a message pop up which says "The EA app is your new home for PC gaming....

Hiya!!

I was having this problem too - after talking to staff at EA I was told it has been passed on to the relevant and that they MIGHT get back to me with a solution. MIGHT! Which was extremely helpful...

I found this and it's worked well for me. You need to download origin again and follow the steps exactly - make sure to start your downloads in the EA app first before you close it.

It worked for me for The Sims 3, but I have no other games to try it on.
