Re: EA App behaves a lot like malware/spyware
@PalermaAU
Hello there,
This may not have any effect once you have started the app, and then close it, as the backround app/services may continue running.
Firstly, check the settings in the EA app, to see if you can disable it starting up along with Windows.
Then, try going into Services and setting the EA app to Manual.
If you don't know how to get into Services, simply click on some empty space on your desktop, then hold the Windows Key and Tap the letter R.
This will open a Run Command Box for you, and in there type: "services.msc" (Without quotes).
Once Services opens up, scroll down to find EA app, and check to see its settings by looking at Status and Startup Type.
If the Status is set to Running (despite you closed it) you can Right-Click, select Properties. From there a new box will open up and you can choose Stop.
While that box is open, is the Startup Type is set to Auto or even Delayed Start (auto or manual), you can select Manual.
Setting the Startup Type to Manual means that the app will not start until you start it from now on.
Hope that can help.
Unless you've already done this, then we're dealing with an app that has an evil spirit and we should absolutely call the Ghostbusters.
