I have not seen any announcements regarding other operating systems than Windows. As for how well the Windows version runs on Linux someone will probably have to test it.
DICE Team@Ancorig Steam is capable of running any game thanks to Proton, the platform is native the games may not be.
So far I've been capable of simply pressing play on all games that are not linux compatible on Ubuntu, Pop!_OS and Manjaro on that gaming platform.
Indeed few games are made under Linux but they can run easily, despite then you having no support for issues. But this is something EA doesn't seem to care about (as far as I was able to figure out by searching), it's a complaint that's been around for several years.
The Epic Games Store works fine, via Lutris, and is only officially PC and Mac.
If the future of EA Desktop remains like Origin, then I'd love to be able to unlock Origin bought games on Steam (as they allow from Steam to Origin) just to be able to play them without launch errors, download freezes, interface crashes, or desktop environment crashes.
Linux is PC. So it should work on my PC right? or do you mean Windows? Because that's a whole other thing.

Made? No idea. Runs? Out of 360 Games in my Steam library around ~190, with proton enabled probably almost all of them. And with steam deck around the corner hopefully gaming under linux will reach new heights.
You know nobody games on Mac, yet you support Mac before Linux, the only reason i have any EA games at all right now is because your back on Steam (I stopped using EA completely when you dropped steam), i haven't owned a EA game for years. I used to be a huge Fifa nerd owned every EA game that came out, but lack of Linux support and bad practices made me not want to use anything EA at all. If I am like this then how many other thousands ditched you.
This is the same for Linux users. People will use it when you offer it, you know how easy it is to build a Linux client to manage games, its lazy, i could literally develop a better platform in a week, that would put your launcher to shame, and it would be built to compile on all platforms.
Its ridiculous you call your self a platform yet you are only on 1 OS, games are on 1 OS, your launcher is 1 OS and nobody cares about gaming on mac.

I totally get where you're coming from, wanting to play all your EA games on the Steam deck. Unfortunately, it seems like EA hasn't fully supported Linux yet, which is a bummer. But don't worry, there's still hope for you to enjoy your fave games on your Steam deck. Have you heard about ELS? It's a program offered by tuxcare.com that helps extend the support for Linux distros, so you can keep using them for longer. This might be an option for you to get the support you need to boot into your external hard drive. It's always frustrating when you have a piece of tech that you're excited to use, but it's not working the way you want it to.
This is completely unnecessary and should be removed. Go sell your products elsewhere.
Back on topic: I know this is old, but the interest is still there. It makes no sense why Epic and others, even Blizzard can all run fine with the aid of Lutris. Yet, it's always a gamble with the EA App. To make things clear to those who have no understanding: EA's games run perfectly fine on Linux. I haven't had an issue with any game from any publisher. They run flawlessly through Steam, even through Lutris. The downside is EA Games still have to run through the EA APP. The APP is the issue; NOT the games. Currently, it is a crippled/modified app (most likely due to an agreement between Valve and EA). You can NOT purchase directly from the EA Store with this modified version. The EA APP on its own does not run fine on Linux, if at all. It is an ongoing headache if you want to try to run it, almost like EA goes out of their way to ensure it can't be run on Linux. This is the issue. The reason this is an issue is if I wanted to (for whatever reason) purchase my games solely through EA instead of Valve, I can't.
Why bash a customer for wanting to give you their money???
I don't run Linux because I want everything for free. I pay for what I enjoy. I run linux because it is faster and I have less issues with it. I'm done with jumping through MS hoops. Linux has come a long way and with the introduction of SteamDeck and it's full desktop, it would make sense if EA, at the very least, attempted to make the use of their app less of a headache. Valve has offered support for some time. Why miss out on an opportunity?
I can guarantee there are more gamers on Linux than there are on Mac, and I highly doubt there will be a handheld mac any time soon. Yet they support Mac. It's clear who shakes hands with who. Linux is nothing to fear people. You have willing customers over here. Take advantage of us.

So why not at least make the EA App compatible with Proton?
