Re: When are achievements coming to the EA app?

Isn't it just really sad this is something we even have to talk about in 2021, they do realize every single game on Xbox since the end of 2005 has achievements and on PC in the year 2021 we still have to beg developers to follow and implement 16 year old standards into their games and platforms. On some other thread they even confirmed they're killing Origin points. Good job now even if there are gonna be achievements it's gonna be dumb pop ups (like on steam) which are inferior compared to a 16 year old console. This is a huge step backwards, one of the things Origin does really well was the achievement system with the points just like xbox, it was late even in 2013 or so but at least it came and was better than other PC systems and now they go back to pre-2013 levels of features. that's just great. Really shows you the people working on this most likely do not play games.

    Some features and functionality might be missing now, but that doesn't mean that they won't be implemented in future updates. Getting features built and implemented takes time and if they are unavailable at this point in time, they can be added at a later date. 

    That's why I highlighted the Trello board, where you can check what we are working on and what's in the most recent update.

    We have achievements on Origin but not on EA Desktop. Why ?

    Achievements are on Steam too but not on a EA launcher who is itself the publisher of these games ?

    People with a Game Pass subscription are required to use EA Desktop to access EA Play but it lacks half of the functionalities compared to Origin.

    This topic has one year now and there are no infos about that.

    @Hawkiinz It’s unacceptable

    They need to let us connect game pass account to Origin launcher so we can track achievements.

    So. EA Desktop is now in beta since 1 year but some features are still missing like : delete (or hide) games from library, achievements and others things.

    Can we please have a real roadmap ? Because the trello is just showing minor things like "Repair games".

    Adding my 2 cents as well. We need achievements! How else we will feel a sense of price and accomplishment?

    can you possibly provide a link to where you read about the origin points?

    I didn't expect them to be so... direct on this matter, wow.
    So either they eventually add achievements and come up with some other system for them or the "other cool features with EA Desktop" they mention are the parental controls and limit-playtime-limit-monthy-spending functionalities lmao.

    I do not really care about Origin Points, as they were completely useless, but achievements seem like such a basic concept (and they already are in Origin, so they already must have the API necessary for it).

    Adding some cool feature like Ubisoft has in uPlay would be great, but I will take basic achievements even, that is what keeps me away from using EA Desktop.
