Re: Why does the EA app not have a Gift option?

How do I "Gift" BF2042 to a fellow EA friend using EA Desktop (Not Origin)?

    Hey @ProStar-Ghost,

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a Gift feature build-in into the EA app at the moment, only Origin in this case.
  • @EA_Leeuw Hi! Now that Origin is no more and has been replaced by the new EA app, how can you purchase a game or DLC as a gift? I don't even see the option in the browser store.

I contacted the help chat and they advised I post on the Answers forum. Hoping to see if we're missing something or the gift feature is now not available at all.

I checked the Known Issues list from the roadmap Trello board and there is no mention of a gifting system. Is gifting not planned?

    Hey @Zakristone,

At the moment, the EA app doesn't have a Gift option, unfortunately.

However, the feedback request for a Gift option in the EA app has been passed on. 🙂

  • now that Mac users are being forced to "upgrade" to EA ap from Origin, gifting is gone.  I used to be able to gift my teen new packs for the Sims, but now I can't.  I don't want to have my kid put my credit card into their EA account, I would like to use MY account to by games/packs and gift it to their account.  Please fix this issue ASAP  as now many folks who are in my boat will not be able to give you all their money.

Here we are in October of 2024. We started playing again in order to play the Grim Reaper event. I wanted to buy a stuff pack for my partner, and some expansions for both my daughters, as well as my son. My sister and nephew also play. But since I am unable to gift them these items, I cannot make any purchases for them. None of them are going to accept taking money from me in order to buy these game add-ons. The whole point of a gift is that once I buy it, the money is spent and they don't feel bad about it. They don't have to ask me, we don't have to make any arrangements, etc. Why take this feature away? I've gotten multiple people back into The Sims because I bought the game and some add-ons for them. Please start taking this seriously. There are 10 plus pages of response to this issue. how much money do you think this represents? Fix this.
