@EA_Leeuw Do you happen to know if there are plans to add this to the EA app in the near future? This has always been a popular feature and seems a sad decision not to include it.
- @EA_Leeuw I am very sad that gifting is not a feature... I use this to buy my brother The Sims games. Please bring this back!

@MissyHissy, we sadly have no information available on when or if the Gifting feature will be available for the EA app. If there is news to share, we will do so as soon as possible. 🙂
Really sad that you force everybody to use the new EA app without implementing all the features from the old Origin app
@EA_Leeuw Any idea how long until I might be able to gift the new sims pack to a friend? I don't want do a gift card, it kind of ruins the surprise and wastes a few dollars in the process.

Hey @MermaidEmber,
No, sadly we have no information available on when or if the Gifting feature will be available for the EA app. If there is news to share, we will do so as soon as possible. 🙂
- @EA_Leeuw We demand that feature asap please. Cheers.
I second the motion!! Gifting packs and kits are the ideal gifts for my daughter. Her birthday is coming up. I wanted to get her the Basement and Greenhouse Kits for Mother's day.
Please fix and enable gifting through your "EA app" or at least allow us to gift through Origin. Currently the EA app is just blocking the access to Origin... Let's be fair until you, EA can get the Gifting feature going.
Please! Obviously this is a popular feature.
This just doesn't make sense not to have it available.
the amount of people wishing the gifting option back is so big... yet all we get told all the time is "thanks for giving the feedback"...
Either give us the option to gift via EA App OR stop forcing us to download the EA App when opening Origin...- @EA_Leeuw And when will it support gifts?
@EA_LeeuwIs this still the case as of December 2023? I can’t figure out how to send a gift on EA and it’s spoiled a great tradition. As with other users I cannot simply give the user money to buy it for themself and the app deletes messages after less than a month so I can’t confidently buy codes and message them.
Hey everyone!
So it does indeed stink that we can't gift through the online platform anymore and I hope they fix that soon. However, there IS an alternative rather than gift cards. You can simply buy the digital download code from Amazon and send them the code to get that game on their EA Play app. This will allow you to get the specific game you want and spend the exact amount of money you want. Typically, the same sales are there since it is linked to the EA company. So, for example, the holiday sale right now is identical on the Amazon site. I just purchased the digital download code for Discover University (60% off) and am going to email it to my friend for Christmas. She will then just have to redeem the code on EA Play and she will have Discover University!

I wanted to give a friend a Sims 4 kit! EA gift cards start at €15. The kit costs €4.99. But EA does not provide matching gift cards for €5 or €10 according to their price tag. I'm not willing to pay more for a gift card if the pack does not cost more. I want to be able to buy credit based on the price tag EA places on their products - at least for the available packs and if they are gifts. But that is not possible and there are no options or other alternatives. The option to gift within the EA app still doesn't exist. I thought EA wanted to make money. We can't buy SIM packs and gift them! That's pretty limiting! But luckily not my problem. EA misses the opportunity that people want to pay for it, and EA doesn't bother to provide it. Like me and all the others here, I wanted to pay and I can't do it. Guess I can't gift a kit. Maybe I'll get lucky and find this kit on a reseller platform and they'll sell it - so I'll buy it there. Less income for EA. I'm just stating the facts. I wish you would add the gift option back to the EA APP sooner rather than later. Considering how old this post is and how slow the process seems to be to implement this feature back. I guess it will take EA another year to add this feature back..😞
Digital download codes from Amazon aren't an option, they seem to be only in the USA.
"Note: Currently, this item is available only to customers located in the United States."I did find a workaround on Amazon for this situation (but have only used it for gifting things that aren't video games). I set up an account on Amazon in the country I wanted to gift from and purchased the item there, and was able to have it sent to whomever I wanted to. Should also work with digital downloads. Hope this helps!
And yes, EA, you REALLY need to get on top of this. People have been asking for this feature for two years now. I'd prioritize anything that would make the company money.Bumping an old thread since gifting has not been added to the EA App yet - When can we expect this feature?
We should be allowed to "purchase as gift" on the EA App.
That is not a fact as you can still download older versions of Origin that allow you to gift games and those accounts still link to the EA app. This has already been done.
