Re: Advance Launch options for EA app

I am having the same issue when trying to disable packs on Sims 4. This worked fine on Origin app, but the text box on EA app gives an error message - as soon as you type anything into it - for me as well.
This worked fine before and a lot of Sims content creators often disable packs to make builds with limited packs, so I know for this community it is a crucial feature to disable packs with commands.
Please let me know when this is fixed? Thx

@strooooble Its fixed for me now. Have you tried using „/„ or “-„  because „+“ doesn’t work anymore. And these “ “ also don’t work. It works the same just without them so you leave one space free and then type in the number. If you want to type in a launch option you have to do it like this: /exec autoexec and not like this +exec autoexec. 

Yes I've tried to start with - and it doesn't work for me either. ☹️

Hmm… Do you have the latest update installed or tried to reinstall EA-Desktop? I can use it without any issues. I don’t know why it doesn’t work

Sorry I actually uninstalled the EA app now and went back to Origin to get the advanced launch options back, so I can't test it anymore. But my app was up to date until a couple of days ago when I removed it, and no, it didn't work. At which point I made the decision to revert to Origin.

seems like the last update sort of fixed the problem, at lest youn can now type in something (f.e. "-exec autoexec" works).

Unfortunatly, I still have a problem with this command for Need for Speed Rivals:  "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+". (It will remove the 30 FPS cap and set it to the number entered, which for me is crucial to play the game)

I still get the invalid character message from bevor. The message is caused by the ".", which seems to be an invalid character, but without the "." the Command will not work.

The Command worked fine with Origin.

Also Unfortunatly, I do not own NFS Rivals and play it via EA Play, which I have via Xbox Game Pass. Because Origin does not support EA Play via Game Pass, reverting to Origin is not a workarround for me.

Nothing works cant even put a forward slash or a number before it tells me i'm using invalid characters? I know the apps up to date. Trying to do "+FPS_max 0" is that allowed? I know you can do it on origin and steam. But yeah nothing is valid even just a plus or forward slash.

How can I use the -datapath command in Advance Launch options for EA play app?

When I'm trying to type for example D:\ the launcher instantly says that I must use only the correct symbols.

It worked in Origin, but doesn't work in EA app

Just updated the EA app and still getting invalid character

It also uninstalled Origin where these options work fine

If a functioning Launch Options function isn't in the EA app by the time the forced migration from Origin happens, I'll be using Steam exclusively.

Yeah, you can't use + because it's considered an invalid character. I'm unable to use +exec autoexec.cfg for Apex Legends.

I want to use +fps_max {whatever number I want} on Apex so badly

Does anyone know a fix for the fps_max command?

i still have this problem.. i even wanted to revert back to the old Origin Client but thats not possible..

I want to play Dragon Age Inquistion with this command so that the cutscenes are not 30 fps capped

Please EA do something about it! 

I hope EA has some feedback or update on this matter. I still can't input anything in the Launch Option. I wished I had never migrated to EA App and stayed on their Legacy Client Origin!

So just to confirm a few things; is the Advanced Launch option (with some commands) not working at all anymore, or just a specific command(s)?

This is specifically for Apex Legends in my case.

Some launch option commands seem to work, while others do not. There does not seem to be a concise list of which commands are or are not working. FPS max/min launch options do not work in any input format.

The only command I use and have been able to get to work is "-dev".
