Re: EA Desktop on Windows 7

No new software makes effort to support Windows 7 as it doesn't even receive security updates anymore. I highly doubt EA Desktop will make such efforts.

    Hey all,

We will release the official requirements at a later time.

  • @Straatford87

    Hello!

Do you remember you asked us about our ideas about Origin and I gave you a few? Are you going to implement them to EA Desktop?

    Hey folks!

We've captured a lot of feedback through Origin, and with the EA Desktop Beta so far.

Keep in mind for EA Desktop we're still in Beta, so we're not in a place where we can share a full list of features. Instead, we invite participants to try out the Beta, and to let us know how you like it, and what's missing for you!

    Cheers,

Please have the EA Desktop app work for Windows 7, I am currently still on it and will be stuck with Win 7 until I get a new computer, so please make EA Desktop workable for Win 7 users until they can upgrade to Win 10.

  • I'm using Win 7 too. But I understand that it's time to get a new OS version.

Is EA agree to set some kind of transition period?

Can you just make a version of EA Desktop that works for Windows 7 for a little while? Just until everyone has moved to Windows 8 or Higher, like I have stated I am STUCK on WIn 7 and am currently waiting for my brother to install Windows 10 sometime soon on my computer, it's very irritating to know I signed up for this BETA and I cannot install it on Win 7 because of some bias person having an issue with Win 7 not being supported, yes Windows 7 is DED, but a good antivirus and anti malware program goes well hand in hand when currently stuck on Win 7. I know because I have Avira Prime and Malwarebytes on my computer and both are Up To Date, neither Avira or Malwarebytes has dropped support for Win 7 and they've kept me safe ever since support ended early this year.

why you guys still using windows 7 , from now most of new games wanna use DirectX 12 and DX12 is only for windows 10.

so i give you some solution:

Windows 10 Enterprise is a stable of windows 10,

but if you wanna some new OS like windows 7 stable , so you need to install "Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC" this version of windows never get a feature update Automatically, and this version (LTSC) dont have Microsoft store. and i test and use LTSC its a very stable of windows 10 exist

    1. 7 has DX12
    2. You can't purchase a copy of Enterprise LTSC in any official way so yeah.

"Instead, we invite participants to try out the Beta"
My apologies, but it didn't look like an invitation to me. Trying to run a game is automatically triggering the download of the new EA app Beta, which forcefully uninstalled Origin from my computer. And now I have an installed game, managed from Steam, which won't launch anymore due to "an error on our end caused your launch to fail". A very annoying bug which EA doesn't seem to be caring much about.
