Re: How do I prevent the EA app from starting with windows

Hey @TippyBuckle8254

I have moved your post to the EA (Desktop) app section of the forums. 🙂 So it's all nice in one category.

Unfortunately, the EA app doesn't have a manual Start with Windows etc. button in the settings of the app yet. However, you should be able to disable automatic startup (if it is happening to you) via the Startup Programs via Windows Taskmanager.

- Open Windows Taskmanager
- Click on the Startup tab
- Disable the EA app if you see if there

Hope this helps.

  • Unfortunately it does not show itself in task manager, nor does it show itself the windows settings startup menu. I was able to disable the startup of the xbox app (As I've got the two linked.) and that fixed it.

Thank you for the help everyone.

  • can you prevent the app from launching on startup from the app yet? i cant find it in settings for EA or windows

    Hi all,

Actually, now I think about it; the EA app doesn't (or shouldn't) automatically launch itself when you start up your PC. At least, not by default. Now I know that Microsoft has implemented a feature in Windows that 'freezes' all running programs on your machine when you turn it off, so they start again on your next startup/logon of your PC.

On Windows 10 this is called 'Restart apps', which can be found in Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.
