Re: Why does the EA app display "Games have been removed from your library"?

What I did was similar but a bit more involved. I lost most of my games when this issue cropped up. (May 2024?)

I restarted the app, then went to my account - via the EA app - the EA account web page. Went through all settings and refreshed the section with purchases (all time), and every other catagory just in case. Some of them require 2FA. Payment details for example.

Took about 15 mins, I took it slow and checked everything on the account page. All was OK.

Then restarted the app again and everything was back. It's never happened since.

So, in summary, it may well help/solve to go to your account page and click/check everything. Like email address, secondary address, payment, game purchases the lot.

Seems  quite a few are still having this problem, so if you haven't done as above, give it a try. No guarantee it will work, but it did for me. I should add, I don't use game pass, purchase only, and don't link through Steam or any other platform for EA sold games.

The linking is probably not relevant to this issue, but just mentioned it on the off chance it gives anyone an idea to check other non EA app platforms.

Good luck to anyone getting this problem.

  • Thanks for the hint.  I found the order history and it is showing everything there, so at least if I quit GamePass in the future, the receipts will still be there.  Time to make sure I have an offline copy of every receipt.

Offline copy. Very good idea. I have that in the form of email reciepts, (saved) but will back them up too thanks to your post, which sparked the idea. Cheers!

This worked for me.  I too logged in to the EA App after a long time, back when it was still Origin was the last time I logged in I believe.  This was probably a side effect of the migration from Origin to EA App.

Going to the EA website and logging in and going to account settings (which takes you to myaccount.ea) then to order history.  Then make sure to select All Status and All, it'll take a minute or so to load if you've had the account for a long time and made purchases 5-6+ years ago. After it loads it all up log out of your desktop app and log back in.  It should have reloaded all the purchases you've made onto your library.

The only thing that this wouldn't fix is if the game was removed from their catalogue entirely due to them losing the rights to carry a game or something extreme like that.

    @ Luiin,

Good post. I vaguely remember doing similar when switching from Origin. The main thing I remember was that it was pretty easy, but I did as you mention go into my EA account page.

Your post should help others who have not yet switched over (from Origin to EA App)

  • I noticed it too just now when I went to install an older game and noticed a lot of games are missing, a couple months ago or so I got an error saying EA Play expired which removed a lot of my games I BOUGHT from my library and the fact that I haven't used EA Play since maybe 2018 when trying out Battlefield V.  Now when I go and restore games i had it sends me to the store page where i Have to buy it again, such a strange occurance.  My NHL 09 asks for a CD key now, never needed one before.

  • Why this topic is resolved, it is not. Where I can find games that I've added long ago?
