Re: Will progress move from Origin when we migrate to EA Desktop?

I think it's safe to say that since the games installed can use both Origin and EA Desktop atm, then the games will use the same save files.

In short, your progress should be fine - but to be extra safe perhaps take a backup of your save files.

  • @Carbonic Sorry to be annoying if I am being annoying, but I don't know how to do that. How do I do that? Thanks for your reply.

  • Thanks. If I could, I would also accept your post as a solution.

What I can add to this:

    • Yes, your save games migrate, as save games are local to the game instead of the desktop app.
    • What the EA Desktop Beta doesn't support right now is Cloud Sync, which means your save games won’t sync from/to the cloud until that feature is added.

    Cheers,

@Straatford87 hello, thanks for the precision. What about game info that is specific to the app, like achievements and playtime? I noticed that playtime was reset to 0 for all games on Desktop App and that achievements are currently absent from it (or I missed them). Will they transfer when the App gets out of beta and replaces Origin?

@Straatford87 When is Cloud saves comming? I thought i try Need for Speed HEAT again on the Desktop app, but i have to start all over again! I played the game on Origin with EA Play (earlier premium) and now i am using gamepass with EA desktop. Please kontakt me for a solution!
  • @TheSaltySalt +1 With this issue. Progress for Battlefront 2 does not carry over, along with Fifa career saves etc. Just got game pass too after switching from Origin.
