Can't Update the Latest Patch of Sims 2 Legacy Edition

Hi, I really hope you can help me with this, I have tried everything that has been suggested, such as clearing the cache on the EA app, checking my Wi-Fi connection, repairing the game (which it won't let me do as it doesn't make it past 51%), uninstalling the EA app and reinstalling it again etc. When I am downloading and installing the latest patch update for the Sims 2 Legacy Edition, it doesn't make it past 9%, then I get a dialog box telling me there's no internet to be able to do this, even though I know my internet connection is fine, I have checked it on the computer and used other devices with it. I checked my Sims 4 game to see if it was having the same issue by repairing it and it was fine, so I think there must be an issue with the actual Sims 2 game.
