- I have reinstalled BF2042 on Steam and then EA app afterwards, it's now working fine.
I spent 3 hours downloading it. However, the ammount of time spent trying to troubleshoot and workaround wasn't worth it.

Cheers! - @GlockyRoo sometimes its other software that could cause issues !
Did try a cleanboot already ?
Sometimes a fresh windows install is needed ! (registry and/or software get faulty)
If ya reinstall windows , make sure windows and system drivers are 100% up to date before ya install any Game software! And do not install software ya dont use / need that much !!!
