Re: EA App crashes when launching BF2024

Hello,

I had the same problem, reinstalling the Game and EA Launcher didn't work, but after browsing the BF files I noticed:

BF2042.exe and BF2042_launcher.exe both had "Fullscreen optimization" and "Start with admin rights" as compability settings ENABLED.

I DISABLED both/ all compability settings for the BF2042.exe and BF2042_launcher.exe it starts without problems now.

    @therednaxela Hi,

    both of the apps had the full screen and start with admin rights disabled. Tried turning them on and its the same "Oh snap message"

    I think the whole ordeal is with the EA app, its just buggy.

    I have same issue after it decided to remove origin for me and install EA app. My gaming is DOA. I deleted everything related to Steam and origin including EA. Did complete clean, SCANNOW and reinstall and nothing has changed. Hopefully one day it will be fixed, until then i will just watch people play on discord

    @ClownPosse This is just shameful to have us pay $60 and have half-baked solutions in place. By a complete clean, you mean you reinstalled Windows entirely? If so, I was thinking of doing that but if it didn't work for you, I will wait for a fix from EA.

    Hi has there been any progress on BF2042 starting error in the EA app? "Things are taking longer than usual to load up. Hang tight"

    A reboot of the computer almost always allows BF2042 to work but it never loads and runs without a reboot.

    @Shepp3O How I managed to resolve this issue was by formating my pc. I had previously tried everything to no avail.

    @Somborka Thanks for your reply, that sux you had to reformat. I am not sure I am that crazy about BF2042. If EA/DICE doesn't want to support it - could move over to COD. But agreed, as you said above - shameful no support and they didn't vet the * app before they forced origin to be replaced.1
