Re: [FIXED] EA app Friends List Issue - "Presence Update Failed" Error, Mar. 31, '24

This issue has been happening for a while. When it happens I would just logout of the EA app on my computer and relog in but it's gotten worse now.

For example - Friends are online playing Battlefield 2042, I start up Battlefield via EA, join the discord chat, but then I see no friends online in Battlefield and they say they can't see me either. In the EA app I have the green online check mark, I used to be able to see my friends online and what games they were playing but in game they couldn't see me and I couldn't see them. Now all my friends are greyed out like they are offline, I have a green check mark showing I am online. 

I moved to my PS5, deciding I'll game for a bit then troubleshoot my computer later but same thing is happening on my PS5, no EA friends online. Even though my friends are online and they can see each other but just not me. 

Things I tried. 

Logging out and logging in (EA App.)

Clearing EA app cache.

Repairing EA app.

Then I tried deleting and redownloading the EA app. 

I am a ISP field service technician my internet is fine. 

Logged into my gaming laptop and made sure my EA was logged out, then shut my laptop down.

I checked my router and modem settings, I changed my DNS a couple of times. Did some port forwarding tests. Tried a bunch of settings.

Restarted my computer multiple times. 

I am at the end of my patience now. 

Should I unlink all my other accounts like PS5, steam, and discord?
