@EA_LeeuwI've had contact with the (Dutch) support team, with little help. They kept offering solutions I already tried, I even mentioned in my e-mail that I tried them. And they said I mentioned that I am missing packs (which I didn't) I also kept getting a different person who tried to help me, so it was very confusing and they came across as if they didn't read my e-mails and the screenshots I added to the e-mail, which is why I gave up on e-mailing them and came here for a solution.

I have the same problem. I can't download any of the Expansion packs or Stuff packs. Only the base game can be downloaded and installed. I've tried all of the suggested solutions but I still get the same error.

@EA_Leeuw No expansions are downloading for me. All add ons are queuing but only base game is downloading.

Having the same issues, tried the solutions listed but nothing.

@EA_Leeuw This is happening with all the expansion packs I own. I had Supernatural, Ambitions, and Late Night that I didn't buy through the EA app and used to be successfully installed. I bought Pets, University Life, and Generations through the EA app, and none of them had a download button available. Now that I've uninstalled them all to attempt to reinstall them and get through the error, none of them will install. Pets permanently says "Downloading..." and the rest all say queued.

This did not work for me, I tried on multiple PCs to make sure the computer is not the problem and it seems to be an EA problem. I checked the logs and this is what is in the logs (I see several lines of this, so I assume this is here for every DLC I am trying to download):

It's all the packs for me. I'll click install add ons and it sets them all to download but all of them say something went wrong. It's really frustrating because i want to play the game i paid for.

Unable to install any of the expansions/DLCs (I own them all). I have only been able to install the base game, and then the app stops downloading. I have cleared the cache, uninstalled/re-installed, etc., etc., etc. I have followed every recommendation and any other links provided/suggested in this thread (and then some).

It sure sounds to me like this is just a way to make us think its being worked on while it actually gets put to the side. I dare say a lot of people in this thread have spent a good bit of money on this game and all the expansions and add-ons, yet it doesn't seem like anything is actually being done about it. Every email I sent to EA Help was responded to in a timely fashion, but with generic responses that offered no hope to a fix anytime soon.

Base game downloads fine for me.

Pets gets stuck on "preparing"

Ambitions, Generations, Late Night, Seasons, and World Adventures bring up the "something went wrong" error whenever I try to start the download.

I have tried all the fixes and nothing works.

I'm thinking if so many of us spent so much money on this game to have the ability to use it forever, I'm suggesting we go in together on a formal class action lawsuit. Maybe they will get moving on this solution if we take action. 

@Innaminit They’re basically scamming us at this point, cuz we have paid for a product we can’t play - and people can still buy the sims 3 DLC right now but when they go to download it, they won’t be able to - so it’s literally a scam 🤷🏻‍♀️ 

Still no fix? My packs are downloading but none of my DLC (items from the store)  will install. I just removed Sims 3 and reinstalled it. It did no good.

My game is all messed up now. On Main Menu the affected game shows up as blank except for dotted lines... like a paper doll. Never saw that before.

Downloaded 20 pages of items I have purchased from the Sims 3 store and none will install.

Did EA get rid of Help with real people? I can no longer access it.

@MelwinaaEven Sims 4 is a bit unplayable, keeps crashing every... 5 - 15 minutes? I've tried everything again, and nothing works. It happens without the mods in my folder and after repairing the game etc. Same happens to me with Sims 2. But, at least you can still play it a bit. Unlike Sims 3 at the moment. Nothing wants to install there and even the base game is sometimes 'removed' from my library. I think the EA app is just terrible. I've had barely any problems with Origin, the problems started for me after I got the EA app.

I have the SAME problem. I searched for a mountain fixes online and even went the patched origin route which did not work. 

When I install on the EA App, the base game downloads fine, but the DLCs (I have them all) either starts to prepare forever or I get an error! 

I did find that maybe the app is trying to install the base game again even if you have it installed..  I just don't know how to fix this and wish EA would fix this asap. The amount of money we all put in this game but constant bugs that won't even let us play the game to begin with. 

Can't believe they have not disabled new purchases and purposeful selling unplayable games. The people with no respect to copyrights who pirated the game are laughing at us...not only they got the game for free but they can play it when we, the paying customers, cannot. Is this how EA advocates against piracy?

Instead of being proud and appreciative that people still love their game 10 years later they have been ignoring us. I bet EAs creative team is disappointed too. To create a game that players love and have the technical team make it unplayable with their glitchy installer.

I reported this issue a week ago but searching at the forums, I see the same problem coming up again and again since last November...maybe never resolved at all.

And this cannot be too complicated to resolve either. They can roll back to the previous version of the installer that was working or temporarily enable origin or remove the add ons from the base game so they can download as separate games or send us a torrent to directly download them. Noone bothered to press a couple of buttons on their keyboard so we can play the games we paid for.... So sad
