Re: [FIXED] Sims 4 - "Double-check your connection" or "Game License is Invalid"

@cindefeplays  Please uninstall the EA App again, this time with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine).  Restart your computer, and if you use a third-party antivirus, disable it temporarily (just long enough to test).  Download a fresh copy of the EA App installer, run it, and try to launch Sims 4.

If that doesn't help, try using your phone as a mobile hotspot, just to rule out a network issue.  Make sure the phone is using data, not your home wifi.

So, I tried what you suggested. Neither option worked. This is still all I see.

@cindefeplays and @dnmartyn  I've flagged this issue to someone from EA.  The EA App has several known issues with running Sims 4 right now, and EA people are looking into those as well.  Hopefully this and the other issues will be resolved soon, and when that happens, this thread will be updated.  In the interim, there's unfortunately not much you can do here.

@SenUnSeen  I've merged a couple of threads about this issue.  Please answer the question asked by EA_Solaire in what is now the post immediately above yours.

@TheUnthinker  I've merged your post too.  Please answer the question immediately below your post.

  • I'm not getting any error codes, just the error message as shown in the file I uploaded.

I reset my computer and now the game is working fine. I am sure that most people won't want to reset their computer for whatever reason but it worked for me. Thanks for your help.

  • I'd already done a complete reinstall.  When I swapped from an HDD to an SSD I thought it would be a good chance to get a clean start, so I loaded Windows 10 from scratch.  Sims was working correctly on the laptop before I did the reinstall.  I have the same problem on two different laptops, exactly the same error.

Just tried it on a Windows 11 laptop, exactly the same problem.  Anyone got any ideas please before I ask for a refund on all our expansion packs?  Incidentally it's not just on my account that we're having this problem, logging in on a different EA account and a different Windows account doesn't make any difference.

@023327f39fda4f73  What country are you currently in?  Do you use a VPN, and if so, does it help to disable it?  The fact that two different computers and two different EA accounts have the same issue narrows things significantly.

It could still be caused by a software conflict though, so if you've installed any other programs in the fresh Windows install that are also on the other computer, try removing those as well.

  • Hi, UK. No VPN.  I've totally uninstalled my AV/Firewall package and that made no difference.  The only other items I've installed are Office 365, Chrome and Adobe Reader.  I've got all of those on two other laptops and SIM's works fine!  Windows updates are up to date on all laptops.  One of the laptops on which it does work has been upgraded with an SSD and a Win 10 Home clean install just like the ones that won't run it.
