Re: How to fix EA app Error 500?

I have been unable to open up the SIMs4 game for three days since after the update. It first started with the EA app saying that something with the network has gone wrong but I'd eventually get logged in. When I'd go to open SIMs4 the game would either not be in my library; need to update and continuously fail to update; or id try open the game and it would say 500 the server encountered a mysterious error, please try again later. 

This is super frustrating. Please tell me someone can help?

    Hey ! I had the same problem with my sims and here’s how I fixed it. 

    You need to update EA app through the shortcut.

    C: Programfiles/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/EA Desktop/EA Updater

    It should update the app properly. And your games should work and appear as normal

    OK did that. Now all my games are gone. All but the ones from steam.

    Here to say that I just did this and it worked for me. you do absolutely need to do by navigating via your file explorer or shortcut though and NOT through the app. Thank you so much for the suggestion!
