Re: Purchased game/DLC available on Origin but not the EA app

Yes, the purchase is complete and the game is in my origin app. All my Origin games appear in the EA app except Battlefield 2042.

Sorry I missed an important detail. I purchased the game through voidu.com. A third party reseller. The game is activated and appears in my origin library but it doesn't appear in my order history. I do have the order invoice though. @EA_Atic 

Quick and Dirty Fix: 

1.) Install Origin

2.) Install Preload over Origin

3.) close down Origin

4.) startup EA Desktop App ( Game should not be listed as installed ) 

5.) close EA Desktop App

6.) On Windows Desktop there should be a shortcut to BF2042, try to start the game.

7.) The EA Desktop App should load.

8.) Ignore the Login Querry for BF2042 into Origin and Close the opened windows.

BF2042 Should now appear in the GameCollection list as preloaded and ready to play.

@WoFNuLLworks first time but as soon as you close ea app the game will vanish from your collection... I hope the game shows up there naturally just like early acess to open beta for those who pre-ordered

Thanks for your reports about Battlefield 2042 not showing up in EA Desktop.

I have passed this on to the teams of the EA Desktop app.

In the meantime; if it shows up in Origin just fine, I would recommend launching the game via Origin when it's available for the time being.

The EA Desktop app is still in development (beta) and therefore it is possible that potential issues occur more often than we all would like.

Hey @countje, unfortunately, EA Play 10h trials are never able to be pre-loaded. You can only pre-load the game if you own the game standalone of if you 'own' it via EA Play Pro. 🙂 Hope this helps.

I have a similar issue, I bought the game via Steam the game is listed in my collection in Origin. I was told EA Desktop is smoother and will be better so  I wanted to try the app but the game is not in my collection in EA app
So now when I launch bf2042 it force origin to launch and if I do not have origin installed it's not opening EA desktop either.
My game works fine with origin tho.

There is no functionality yet between Steam and the EA app. This means that you can only play Battlefield 2042 via Origin and not via the EA app if you purchased the game through Steam @sk8chalif.

I have the exact same issue. Purchased the ultimate edition from a third-party retailer called voidu.com. I can launch and play the game just fine from Origin. But it doesn't appear on the EA app. Would really like to have it appear on the EA app as I have Game Pass for PC connected to the EA app as well and I need to launch that to play any of those games.

Just an update in case this might be helpful for the devs: I tried launching the game while Origin was closed as someone had mentioned earlier that it can add the game to EA app. The game launched through the EA app, but it didn't add it to the collection. And my status was shown as "Playing Unreleased Game".

After that, I just used Origin the next time I launched the game and it automatically verified the game files and then started the game as if it was my first time running it. Had to go through the first time calibration and play the "tutorial" match on Hourglass. But after that, the game crashed when going to the main menu. And this kept happening over and over.

But the game runs fine when I run it from the desktop shortcut while Origin is closed. So now, I can't use Origin to run the game. I'm sure it'll be playable from Origin if I re-install the game. But I can manage with the desktop shortcut + EA app for now.

Any fixes? I can't use Origin now due to constant offline friendlist and chat. While it works at my friends, I cleared cashe, appdata, uninstalled Origin, reinstalled it and nothing works. It's pissing me off.

Keep in mind that we are investigating an issue where certain games do not show up when purchased through a third party retailer. 

Has there been any progress on this issue made so far? I am having the same challenge with BF2042 purchased via voidu.eu and showing up correctly in Origin but not in the EA App. It is a little annoying becaus I've had to reinstall Origin just for the purpose of currently being able to run BF2042...

Any update on this? I tried calling into your customer service, had a next to an impossible time understanding the rep on the phone and ended up being hung up on while he was "checking something" I redeemed through origin originally and decided to "upgrade" to EA Desktop and it is also not showing up on EA Desktop for me either. 

I have the same issue, I also get a bug where my M&K stop working entirely. This was also an issue in BF5. The solution was to use the EA app because Origin causes problems. That was quite a while ago.

I would also like an update on this.

Yeah, sadly the performance on origin is still bad. Stuttering and fps drops while on EA Desktop (i have ea play so i could play tzhe 10 hours) was ways better. Higher max fps, and no stutter and peaks. If i could i'd refund but it was a key so no option.

If your pre-order purchase of Battlefield 2042 is still not visible on the EA Desktop app, but is visible via Origin, for now, the only 'workaround' to play the game is to play it via Origin.
