Having the same issue. Still hasn't been fixed for me either....

i also have this problem with my sims 4. it said we are going to have to switch over eventually from Origin. but i ddnt think they would uninstall origin as well. 

The problem isn't fully solved.

When I run TS4 in offline mode switched from online, everything runs normal. But when I run TS4 without ANY internet connection, it runs without DLCs. So I can't play TS4 with DLCs when there is no internet.

I hope for a quick solution.

@Sancastro87, @CyjaneczekPL, there were some general issues with Origin/EA app yesterday. Are you still experiencing this specific issue?

@EA_LeeuwI played The Sims 4 yesterday on Origin, online first because of the updates, and then I went offline and had no problem there. I can try the EA app and see if I still can't play offline with the packs.

I tried to play The Sims 4 again through the EA app, after having updated the game I entered the game first online and then offline and this time I had no problems. I didn't get any message about not having the packages. The only "problem" I found was that it took longer to update than origin. But it could be my internet that today is not running at 100%.

If I play the game offline all my packs are missing! If I launch the EA app with internet connection and then turn on offline mode before starting the game that solve it... But I shouldn't have to connect first to enjoy offline mode

I also have the problem even though I only installed the EA app yesterday. Also, I'm lucky that I can play at all at the moment, because my PC needs an adapter for LAN to access the Internet and I rarely have it available. It's also needed elsewhere and I dont have enough money to buy my own at the moment.

Hi!, Same issue

Expansion Packs:
- work in online mode
- work in offline mode
- DO NOT work when the computer is offline / has no internet connection.

When the game and or EA app is started online and you switch off internet connection while the app still running, expansions still work.
Starting / Restarting EA app when truly offline (not offline mode) and expansions are not available in the sims 4.

I bought the game on steam and had to install the EA app beta

When I don't have internet connection, steam goes offline and tries to launch the game without success (the "play" button goes "stop" than back to "play")

When i then open the EA app to try to see what's going on, the app is offline as well, but when i click the play button next to the sims 4 title (which i have installed) nothing happens.

i believe the problem is from the ea app which is why i write to you this report. 

Is this a known issue?

The EA app teams have released multiple patches for the app over the last couple of weeks.

Are you still experiencing this specific issue with Sims 4 DLCs when the EA app is in offline mode?

Just got force pushed off Origin (again) onto the EA App. Figured I'd give it a test run again for the sake of seeing if any actual improvement had been made. Immediately tested offline functionality.

EA App in offline mode did not acknowledge my ownership of the two latest kits (skintimate and bathroom clutter), which is at least less than it usually claimed I don't own. I own every content release to begin with and made those purchases on release. Now, normally I'd think "Hey, I must need to get online at least once before it acknowledges the license" except EA App forces you to go online BEFORE going offline mode, so that's out. Nothing about this version of offline mode makes sense for the people who would be using it, honestly.

You can't be on a VPN while online with the EA App. It will either crash if launched prior or fail to launch if launched afterwards. Okay, sure, I'll drop my VPN to launch game, IF I'm not multitasking like all hell and which is unfortunately 90% of the time. You can't boot it in offline mode like Origin. It explicitly states that when you relaunch the app it will go back into online mode. That makes little sense and I don't leave my devices on all night and day so that's a big complication. I live in the rural United States as well as travel frequently, being chronically online or even having actual internet access or power is not in the cards for me. Even if could be online, I'd rather save my resources for whatever it is I'm doing while multitasking and playing. For all the flaws Origin had, the offline mode functioned most days. Every so often it would forget my credentials and force me to log back in to confirm ownership. I'm OKAY with that, because that was few and far between.

I am not playing online games. I am playing, genuinely JUST The Sims 4 as far as EA is concerned. My purchases were directly through Origin and EA Apps over time, so the Steam hoop is not part of my issue. This is honestly pretty absurd, considering the amount of communication that has gone down pre-official launch of the EA App to now, that this is still a thing. I definitely would like to put in a request to update the functionality that the next time the App launches that it ASKS if you'd like to go online, vs outright does it, but I realize it's not currently the intent.

So basically, we can't have the true offline experience with EA Play. Origin can't be used any more as we a forced to install/use EA Play upon running the origin which will promt Origin to be uninstall automatically. Please understand that there are players here who don't have a constant internet access 24 hours a day. Origin were much better for me until I was force to used EA Play. Now I can't play The Sims 4 when I go back to my home or village for relaxing.

Hi there! I'm experiencing the same issue. When EA is offline, Sims 4 doesn't launch *at all*, even if I am connected to the internet and set it to offline mode while online. I bought it through Steam and when EA is online but Steam is in offline mode, it also doesn't work. I don't have Wi-Fi at home and am writing this with my potato data plan, so I'm really hoping for a fix soon. Thanks 🙂

Hi. I've tried downloading and playing through Origin but I still get redirected to download the EA app which isn't launching on my pc. Any tips on what I can do?
