There aren't any Sims 3 avatars. 

And the culture or whatever it was that selected the male silhouette as the go-to during updates in the first place has not been addressed, nor has my offense at that been acknowledged as understood. When returning to the forum, my avatar this time had been assigned as a blue ... boy. I'd be interested to know what the demographic of players of this game is, because all of the tutorial and narrator videos I've seen have been female, possibly in that case it's been doubly assumed. It would be nice for us, female players, possibly the majority, to see an apology, which has not been said.

Because as mentioned earlier, we are looking to make custom avatars available, so you can upload the ones that you want.

That's what we are investigating efforts into, rather then expanding the current library.

The current avatar library features are unfortunately also still lacking in that we cannot organize them by theme yet.

Regarding the fallback default characters, it's not a deliberate choice that was in our hands, but pointing out the consequence to those that did make that choice is. Thanks for making me aware, I will be doing that next opportunity.

In the meantime, their team is working on addressing the bug so that we no longer see avatars reverting in the first place.
Meanwhile, our own team will continue to work towards a way to let users pick their own custom avatars in the future.

Lastly, while this forum is a community for all EA games and fans, Maxis did previously share some stats around the Simmers demographics. There was a discussion about it at the time here.

Thank you EA_Nils . I do appreciate your respectful 'listening' and intelligent empathy. It is nice to be in such environment, possible and surely will triumph in the private sector.

The default silhouette IS a boy.

I'm a woman.

And I don't like the other iteration of the game.

Its been many days this time. I will be talking about it loudly on the train during peak hour.

Sorry all for the inconvenience with the avatars. You should be able to pick an avatar from a slightly bigger library again.
The asset cache issue has been addressed, we are hopeful that it's for good this time!

Also, we are still working towards an option for users to add their own custom avatars.

What is this avatar I have now? I found it on me when coming on the forum today. It looks like the full body version of the avatar I've had in my EA game launcher since before Sims 4 began? I thought that if it is a Sims 3 avatar, which it couldn't be could it? Then that might mean there are others to choose from but when I opened the selection from Settings, I didn't see any Sims 3 one's, nor did I see this one. Is it a special one? Or is it the one from my EA launcher transferred across somehow? Either of those answers are too true!

I know it's not a Sims 3 custom avatar, but...I've decided to use another EA "property"...
