Custom Avatar

They really should have left the ability for everyone to use a custom avatar. Most of us used our sims in our avatars and it was cool to see the different sims. Now, it's like the same 20 or so pictures and no individuality. 

The amount of times I think: Wait, did I post that? Nope, just someone with the same picture 🙃

I agree with being able to have our own identities. 

Having so many people sharing the tiny circle makes it so hard to spot someone straight away.

But, will saying any of this make any difference? 

I want me back. I do not like pink hair girl, she is always appearing in other people's posts. And I like the other choices even less. Give us back our individuality! I thought EA was all about the representation?

I agree, having a custom avatar gives us individuality and helps our identity. Like MDianaSims I have also been confused when I saw a post started with my current avatar. I keep thinking 'did I post that?' just to realise it's the lack of individuality that's playing tricks on me. When I looked at the info about hero ranks it even said some people will never get that rank, which makes sense. But the consequence is that these people are never given the possibility to establish themselves as an individual on this forum. That's a huge let down. 

On a side note, the solved tag on this post is misleading. The issue is explained (no custom avatars for regular member), that's not the same as a solution. 

How do you get a sim diamond  instead of the weird pictures that come on them?  Is that considered custom?

While I agree with the need for more individual avatars, I actually fo like this one I picked!

SheriSim  you have to click on your icon in the top right corner, go to settings. On the tab personal you have a small selection to choose from. With so many simmers on this forum, there are bound to be others with the same one but it's better than nothing. There is a plumbob among the options, I assume that's what you meant with sim diamond. 

Yall have to realize how weird this decision looks no? 

Would be nice to stop treating the forums as some kind of weird popularity contest because the old ones didn't feel that way at all. We just want our avatars, display names that can differ from our user names, posts ordered chronologically, a forum you don't have to log in to everytime you reopen the page, and an interface that doesn't feel so sluggish.

It's kinda sad how we went from forums everyone liked, had no issues with, and offered pretty much all of those things for the past decade to... whatever this is.

The one and only perk with these forums is the ability to quickly and easily add images straight from our computers. It took a few tries to make this a size I like, but now I just add it to everything I write save my own story where it would feel wrong. 

Similarly the signature is done in word and saved as an image on the computer. Easy to do and easy to use. I refuse to let someone else dictate what I can and cannot use as an avatar and I missed me when posting. It's a bit annoying to remember to do it manually each time, but at least this way I'm me. I hope others catch on as well because I miss seeing who people are.
