Car Town

I would like to initiate a constructive discussion regarding the possibility of a potential return of the game Car Town, originally developed by Cie Games and later integrated into the Glu Mobile catalog.

Car Town was a title that, despite being originally released as a web/social game, featured characteristics that are highly aligned with what we now recognize as “mobile-first” design: a simple interface, time-based progression, casual management mechanics, and strong visual appeal. For this reason, many players still view it as a game that would be extremely well-suited to today’s mobile gaming landscape.

Considering that Electronic Arts now holds the rights to the Glu Mobile catalog, it is natural for curiosity—and community interest—to arise regarding the feasibility of a potential relaunch, remake, or even a spiritual successor to Car Town for Android and iOS.

This is not solely a matter of nostalgia, but rather an acknowledgment of the potential of a concept that was ahead of its time and that could, today, find a meaningful audience among both former players and new mobile users.

I would be interested in hearing the community’s perspective on this topic and, if possible, learning whether there has been any internal consideration or recorded feedback regarding player interest in this title.

Thank you for your time, and I hope this discussion can contribute in a positive way. 😃

  • I stand by your idea and would absolutely LOVE to see this game be brought back to the market. It would undoubtedly succeed not only because of the nostalgia from people in the 20-30 year old range, but would likely attract a vast younger audience and can absolutely prove to be a profitable addition to the EA portfolio. I sincerely hope to see this be brought to fruition!
