Can't use character properly after The Hand of Sandrakk cutscene

So... I had the same problem on PC, using the steam version.

I tried a bunch of individual things which did not work, but I in the last try, I did the following steps and got it working.

• I verified the integrity of the files (which passed ok).
• Loaded the game. Game starts in the blue "dream" telling you to "follow thadeous", you can still shoot and jump when you load the map, and only lose "combat controls" when you approach thadeous.
• Instead of going forward I turned around and I jumped onto the blocks behind me.
• Then I jump to the blocks on the left of thadeous,
• Then I jump in front of thadeous - his animation and speech did not trigger - and walked to the other area/platform area (even thought there was no bridge floor).
• I moved around and tried to walk back to thadeous but the invisible bridge floor was not there anymore. So I could not trigger his animation and speech.
• Thus, I "returned to main menu", and re-loaded the save again.
• Entered the blue area. As you enter you can still shoot. I shoot some random shots, and recovered life (C).
• Then I moved ahead and talked to thadeous, but as he was walking I tried to always be in by his side - inside his range - so you "walk slow" automatically.
• As soon he was done with his animations and talking, I talked to him and selected the last option (to move on into the cutscene).
• Cutscene played, and "magically" after the cutscene ended, I could use the character properly and start the chase part.

I am not sure which of these made the difference. Bu if I were to guess, I would say: "stay right next to thadeous the whole time he is speaking". But something on this list made the "combat controls" to be reactivated after the cutscene.

Also, I never re-installed the game.
