erro save a way out local mode

i'm trying to play a way out with my friend, but the game won't save. we are playing local on pc via gamepass/EA play.

    @DanielHarper Would it be possible to run the clients and game as admin, or allow them through any running security to see if this continues?

@DanielHarper Do you get sent a chapter back, or is no progress being saved?

no progress is being saved, when I start the game it only shows the new game option.
