Platform: PC (Steam)
Region: Europe
Error Message: No error pops up after trying to launch the game, but if I check Windows Event Viewer, I see an error relating to Wild Hearts (exception code: 0xc0000409)
Date this issue started: The day the trial released (feb 14), currently still happening
Anything else: I click play game, I see 2 windows pop up in a row, Link2EA and the EA app library, in task manager I see the Wild Hearts exe for a few seconds, then it disappears.
DxDiag included in attachments, added a picture of the event viewer log if that helps. It's in Dutch though.Edit: If you need a clip, I had to upload it to google drive because this site doesn't allow you to attach mp4 files to your post...

Error Message: There is no error message. I press play, a window of EA play pops up and then nothing happens.
Date this issue started: I bought the game yesterday (16 Feb). I had the same issue yesterday so I looked up a fix online. Nothing worked. I found someone that said you needed Origin instead of EA Play to make it work. I tested this and this worked. I was able to play for 5 hours. I tried this again today (17 Feb), but was not able to do this anymore.
Anything else: When you press play the pop up shows and then disappears on steam. After that the play button goes back to green (steam) but automatically enables itself as if it's trying to launch again. It then pops up the EA Play app and nothing happens.
I've tried multiple fixes. I have tried:
- launching game directly from folder -normally and as admin
- launching from EA app, while game is installed by steam
- closing all steam/EA app related tasks and running game via steam/EA app/from folder
- clearing cache in EA app
- checking steam game integrity
- reinstalling the game on steam
- updating drivers
- disabling antivirus and VPN
- Steam is correctly linked with EA Play
I wanted to put a video in here but it's not supported. How can I do this?
Please help :/

Anything else: I press play on steam, 2-3 windows, all from the EA App open and close in a row , I see the Wild Hearts process in Task Manager for a few seconds and then it disappears.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to provide this information. We have shared everything so far with the team.
I wanted to check if it would be possible to get an EA Error Report ID as well. Please either update your post or reply to this one with the ID (will be a long string you can copy) and I can pass these on.

I'm sorry to post a reply after updating my post to include the EA error Id, I wanted to let you guys know I tried to launch Wild Hearts from my partners pc, and it wouldnt launch
but a bit ago I had my partner log onto my pc using their steam account and was able to load Wild Hearts on my computer.
I tried to launch the game on my steam account, on my own computer, and the issue is still there
I'm not sure what that means for my save? or if it's helpful. - EA_Illium3 years ago

@AnotherCharLatte Thanks for the update, I can pass both along. To confirm was your partner just game-sharing your version (owned copy) of Wild Hearts when it worked? - 3 years ago
My partner and I both own of Wild Hearts, so it was not game shared.
We bought them at the same time and was playing together.
I just completed the first Spineglider by myself, my partner logged off after we killed Kingtusk together - 3 years ago

Error message: I was getting the error message until just yesterday but its the exact same crash Ive been getting since the 14th
Date: 14th the moment early access was released and its still hapening
Anything else: no it just runs for a moment in the background to try and boot but it closes itself shortly after - 3 years ago
As a possible update I just did a full reinstall after trying unsuccessfully to change the location of the game through Origin (I don't recommend it) I just thought maybe another drive instead of my SSD might work temporarily however it forced me to locate the game and while it said verifying files it also showed a download queue so I think it was just downloading that "download" went to est. 0 hours, 0 mins, 0 secs at 96% and so at that point I moved it back to the C drive where I got the same problem of no error on launch but no game popped up and sometimes it was in the background again despite not launching.
After another reinstall I went to This PC>Documents>KoeiTecmo>WILD HEARTS and deleted SYSTEMSAVEDATA
Finally the game launches,.. however I'm not sure this is a fix as I am afraid to stop the game because someone in another thread mentioned reinstalling works until you quit again then it is back to not launching. Hope this helps someone avoid the headache I just went through.
TLDR: A reinstall and/or deleting SYSTEMSAVEDATA located in This PC>Documents>KoeiTecmo>WILD HEARTS might work. This file only deals with settings and not saves so it is safe to delete it and have the game remake one for you with default settings.
UPDATE: I have closed out the game several times now so it seems to have resolved itself. If when running sfc /scannow you find corrupted files as I did earlier in the day after playing Wild Hearts and getting a blue screen of death on exit *(LOL I Kno WHAT? how is that possible?) You may need to reinstall the game and delete the SYSTEMSAVEDATA I mentioned in order to clear whatever error is preventing the game from working. I have not tried the game in Borderless mode yet and I'm not sure I will as I'm afraid it could be the original culprit for game running in background mode only and not launching. - 3 years ago
MsFinality's solution worked for me. I am able to play again.
I deleted the contents in this highlighted folder, and no problems. multiple launches and such.

@AnotherCharLatte If you have a moment, could you try to run Wild Hearts without running it as admin?
Just run it from the client, and make sure under properties you don't have it saved to always run as admin and check if the game will launch now. - 3 years ago
@EA_Illium Oh gosh, I'm sorry for the late reply, my partner was off yesterday so we got back into the game.

Its been a full week since the game really released and people are still completely unable to even launch the game not considering performance issues and there's no troubleshooting fix, its not migration, it's not corrupted files, its not out of date drivers, its been confirmed before that its not included in the upcoming patch, is there any time frame for this because its really disappointing
- 3 years ago
Agreed. @EA_Illium for vis.
Wasn't addressed this patch or even talked about for next patch in the patch notes
- 3 years ago@MsFinality This solved the issue for me as well after 2 days of trying what I thought was everything. Thanks
