you have probably found gazilion solutions, when EA tried you to persuade you, that the problem is on your side and that you should turn of some funcionalities on your computer, so they would be ok and wouldn't need to build a client that does not include this problematic funcionality (a mean pop-up invitations that require the overlay, which is obviously so problematic)...

Here is the one from all that worked for me:

Try to run "EA App Recovery". It does nothing but clearing cache, as I've understood. But it is different from clearing cache directly from the client. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not professional, but nevermind... You can find it under the Windows Button (on the image). 

The EA client will restart. I would recommend you to run it on both computers (the sender and receiver of the invitation). Again, I am not sure if it is necessary, but why not to be sure 🙂
